I had a 992 CS for a short while and agree with you on its no longer a fun involving weekend car..I have an RS WP now which is very raw in comparison and an ideal Mr Hyde to the Taycan's Dr Jekyll..

Agree on the electric sound - very silly but fun.

Forgot to add Park assist is essential as rear view is limited.

I had a go in the same 4S as Taffy whilst picking up my 991 GTS yesterday. All I can say is wow... I really did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Launch control was absolutely outrageous. The car feels so nimble I couldn’t believe it’s over 2 tonnes by the way it drives. Doesn’t work for me logistically at the moment as I spend most of my time in London, but definitely put it well and truly on my radar for the future - hugely impressive.

I've got a Taycan 4S arriving in October and after my test drive in one last Thursday i can't wait..! The demo was the same light blue as above and i thought it looked stunning in the metal..However since i'm currently going through a boring grey or black phase in my cars i've settled on Volcano Grey.
I've provisionally gone with 20'' wheels depite my strong preference for the Mission E 21'' wheels from a looks POV..Trouble is the 21'' rims really knocks the range which really rather defeats of an EV in the first place, so i think i'll stick with the 20'' ones.
Based on my drive i have to say its one of the most impressive and well rounded cars i've ever driven..The demo car was a 4S with Performance battery which provides more than plenty poke and any more is pure overkill IMO..I thought the Adaptive cruise was well suited to the Taycan and i've since added it to my spec.
I also think the Pano glass roof is a must have which i've also chosen. Ideal companion to my RS WP methinks..
That’s interesting because I really like the Mission E wheels - how badly does it affect range?

Is anyone buying one as a sole trader and not as a company car and what is the tax advantages in EV?

If you go to the range calculation section you can play around with options to give you the theoretical differences.

Its about 25 miles less range IIRC...The trouble with adding the Mission E wheels is that on top of the £3k they cost, its also mandatory to add the PSCB brakes which cost another £2,100..Its gets worse if you don't like the white calipers and the bright silver on the inside of the wheels..That's potentially another £580 and £850..Grand total is £6,500..

The Mission E wheels aren't aero-optimised which knocks range
The tyres are also wider which knocks range due to higher air resistance
Finally 21" wheels on Taycan are the only ones that don't come with low-rolling resistance tyres, which on their own accounts for about half of the range impact of going for the Mission E design wheels.

As mentioned above, on a 4S you've also got the considerable amount necessary to upgrade the brakes to take the Mission E wheels....

Still look cool though! smile

Just noticed on the configurator that a few more colours and options have been added.... toys like a HUD & '3D surround view with active parking support'... there are probably others but I can't remember for sure what was there before!

There are quite a lot of changes to the 2021 Model year Taycan, both in options and standard features..I had it confirmed last Friday that mine which is arriving beginning of October will have these updates.

Just trying to finalize my spec

Can’t decide on the colour. Was set for frozen blue - then they released crayon.

Frozen blue seems to stand out more to me - but crayon is a brilliant colour - just not sure how well it suits bigger cars

I thought I'd love crayon until the first time I saw it in the flesh (on a Cayenne coupe).... then I thought it just looked like a white car that hadn't been washed.

I've gone for boring Volcano grey as i think it suits the Taycan. I've also gone with 20'' wheels as the 21'' really hampers the range

Crayon has a brown tint to my eyes...works okay on something like a 991 GTS with the black as a contrast but I saw a Crayon Panamera and it really didn’t work for me,

Wonder how long they keep the Panny and Taycan in the line up together. I’ve got my name down for an ST but the new Panamera Turbo S sounds ridiculous...0-60 in sub 3 seconds.
