Sorry guys for the confusion! I have a Taycan Turbo (not S) on order - delivery April 2020

The base cars are due to be available to order at the end of 2020 from what I have been told they will be around £85-90k onwards.

From the configurator:
Taycan Turbo
from £ 115,858.00 incl. VAT
Taycan Turbo S
from £ 138,826.00 incl. VAT

Panamera 4 E-Hybrid
from £ 83,718.00 incl. VAT
Panamera 4S
from £ 92,443.00 incl. VAT
Panamera Turbo
from £ 117,918.00 incl. VAT
Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid
from £ 140,132.00 incl. VAT

My guess:
Taycan between £80K - £83K
Taycan S above £100K - £105K
And my expectation is that the non-turbo-designated Taycan models will sell like hotcakes.

I Have ordered my Taycan. Currently have a 991.1 (for sale in the classifieds)

With reference to all the 2nd hand price doom I will make this single analogy :

I bought a bottle of Corona last night (this is a true story) and all the time I had it I enjoyed it. I bought it primarily because I wanted it. When I finished it was worth nothing. I have had Corona before and each time the same story, but I keep buying it and keep enjoying it.

Sometimes we buy things because we like them. We go in eyes wide open. I'm certainly not going to waste my energy (ooh Taycan pun) on what I might lose, rather, I will look forward to what I'm buying and the enjoyment it will bring this err... how do I put this... Petrol Head ?

Just had an idea for and EV forum instead of piston heads... Motorhead..oh hang on that's been used hasn't it.

The Porsche Lemmy edition would be a fun one.

How much was this Corona exactly? Did you buy it at Antico Caffè di Marte.

As otherwise it's a terrible analogy hehe An expensive holiday would be a better example.

Catchpole's review is discouraging. I had a Telsa P85DL for 3 years and loved the ease of use but I never drove it for the hell of it like we do with our Porsches. Will an EV ever be as much fun to drive as an ICE? It must be a worry to manufacturers who have traditionally differentiated themselves with engine technology to be now stuck with the same kind of power unit.

It’s an interesting point...if people can write off 40% of the value of the car in Year 1 they won’t be too fussy about the trade in.
My Taycan Turbo comes to £120K after the £3.5K government grant..As i intend paying for it through my non Ltd business and a high rate tax payer then the whole £120K can be offset against my taxable income..This is in effect a 45% discount which on top of the £3.5K grant makes it a cheap car to own..No road tax and as i happen to own a large commercial solar panel system, virtually free and unlimited fuel..
Total no-brainer for me personally although i fully understand not so much for others in a different situation..I'm nearly as excited picking my Taycan up as my new RS..Sad but true..!
The 100% tax allowance for the percentage of buisiness use not personal.

Correct..The WDA only applies to business use although a small percentage used for unexpected and unavoidable private use element is generally accepted by the IR..Its usually what the intended use for the vehicle was for at point of purchase..Admittedly 100% business use is very complex and requires regular documented evidence as proof of such use..I normally allow between 15 and 40% for personal use depending on the suitability of the car..

My accountant said don’t let the tail wag the dog!
Pick the car you like not the one with the greatest tax allowance.

Taking advantage of legal tax liability reducing allowances is savvy however not compulsory..Its up to the individual..My Ferrari,GT3 RS and Spyder are all obviously 100% private use..

The way I have understood this is that 100% is FYA, which is more like 19% and there is not BIK for the first year.

It has got me thinking...I am guessing OPC’s will have demo’s in Dec/Jan...might wait til then to confirm order. Regardless of it being a strong seller/cheap to run I don’t want a £100k car that sends me to sleep. I really couldn’t care less about 0-60 times! I am sure lots of people will be buying them to keep themselves in the game for GT cars but I’ve got one `I love so that is not a motivator for me.

it's a massive saving, iirc the bik will be 1% the following year

for reference a spec'd DB11 as a company car is roughly £2,400 off your wages *per month* !
I expect to see many of these by directors

Was anyone really expecting sportscar like goodness from a 2.3 tonne luxury barge?

Imho If BMW take the i3 recipe (lightweight focus throughout, 1200kg) and build a low slung 2 seater with laser sharp focus on handling they might be able to pull the sports car EV thing off.

No but I love my Macan Turbo PP as a daily so I am just wondering whether it is the right thing to do.

Much sooner than expected. Well priced too. I wonder how many will amend their order, also considering the additional range of the 4S..
