Anyone placed an Order for the Taycan yet?
Discussion
Hi all - after some advice from current/prospective Taycan owners if I may.
Been speaking with an OPC today regarding a Taycan 4S for my old man.
Configured a car online, very light options (black paint, black leather, 20 inch Turbo Aero wheels, 4+1 seats) coming out at just over £85k list.
PCP based on 3 years / 25k PA is circa £10k deposit + £1320pcm including VAT. GFV at £39.5k.
Alternatively, same spec but with performance battery; £10k deposit + £1386pcm. GFV at £41.5k.
Does this seem a good deal? Am I better exploring other avenues than Porsche finance themselves? The car will be bought through a limited company due to the BIK relief so need to speak with accountant as to whether we lease/PCP.
Cheers

Getting closer to the lock date for my CT 4S.... Apologies if this is a numpty question but any thoughts on PTV+ (I've been googling for about an hour and there seems to be very little genuinely useful information about it out there)?
Is there any advantage to a fairly casual, relaxed driver or do you have to drive like a nutter or near the limit to feel any benefit? Also, is it any help when driving cautiously on very slippery wet/icy/snowy roads?

I haven't got PTV+ or any other of the performance options on my 4S and intend to do the same with my upcoming Cross turismo 4S. They drive brilliantly straight out of the box, after all its a 2T+ saloon and not a sports car.
OTOH i'm having second thoughts on the wheels as i really like the look of the new forged 21'' Cross Turismo ones.

It's not a numpty question, it took me ages to find the answer. PTV+ adds the LSD that comes as standard on the Turbo and S. The regular 4S has an open diff and torque vectoring using the brakes to simulate an LSD. Whilst a grand is something of a bargain for a real LSD, I really can't see it being of any benefit at all unless you're an avid drifter or drive on snow a lot.Is there any advantage to a fairly casual, relaxed driver or do you have to drive like a nutter or near the limit to feel any benefit? Any thoughts on the new 21'' Cross Turismo Design wheels i'm considering.? It reduces the range by about 10-14 miles but really improves the look IMO.
I had to stop myself from ticking that box. Several times.I can imagine, on a wet, muddy country lane, or worse still driving on wet grass, they will take the best part of an hour to clean. For me, the beauty of this car is it's designed to get a bit off road and muddy, after all.
That is the logic I used to convince myself to be sensible, anyway. HTH

I'm agonising over that too, I keep changing my mind between 21" CT Design wheels and 20" aero wheels.My thought process can be summarised in the two lists below (and I'm no tyre or wheel expert so please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken about any of the points)...
Advantages of the 21":
- Look great;
- Possibly better grip on dry roads.
Advantages of the 20":
- Cheaper;
- Possibly better grip on wet/winter roads;
- Quieter (which probably matters more on an electric car than an ICE one);
- Increased range.
- Less prone to Kerbing
I suspect that if you ask the Porsche Marketing Department then they'd say pick the 21" but if you ask the Engineering Department then they'd say pick the 20".
Have a look at what Gordon Murray says about wheels here (at about 3:30 in):

So my head says 20" but my heart still says 21"!

Those 21 inch cross turismo wheels do look great I must admit.
Still got a couple of weeks before we have to lock but our final spec is going to be close to this:

It's technically my wife's car although we share our cars so it's a bit of a mix between her priorities and mine... I wouldn't have added the 'Vehicle key painted in exterior colour' for example but she insisted so don't shoot me!
Anything we're missing that might be important for resale down the line?
