I placed a deposit on the 24th May . The dealer still doesn’t have their allocation apparently so I’m waiting to confirm the spec and get an eta .
Hopefully that will be next week when the Manager is back .
Thanks, not just us then.Hopefully that will be next week when the Manager is back .
We ordered through Tonbridge.

Well what a difference a day makes. It seems our weak link was the chap at the dealer that has just moved on.
Three emails exchanged this morning with our new contact and we have confirmation that the colour I chose is available at the lower cost point and we should expect a PTS build slot of January if I lock my spec in today, hopefully with a February delivery. To be confirmed - but it looks like that what's available right now.
So I'm going for this in Oak Green Metallic.

Glad it's been resolved for you! That spec will look great with Oak Green. Plus you'll have one of the first PTS Taycan's in UK with a Jan build slot.Three emails exchanged this morning with our new contact and we have confirmation that the colour I chose is available at the lower cost point and we should expect a PTS build slot of January if I lock my spec in today, hopefully with a February delivery. I dislike the process if I'm honest. It's bad enough with new cars but with used cars I just despise having to deal with the motor trade. It was such a relief being able to order through the likes of Orange Wheels, Drive The Deal and lately CARWOW. Put in your spec and the dealers court you for a change - no hassle, no sitting in showrooms for two hours sat in a chair waiting. Just a good deal, car ordered, money paid - delivered.
My last two cars were bought via Orange Wheels, which no longer exists by the looks of it. The moment you step away from mainstream manufacturers though you're back into the game of "oliver" please sir can I spend £100K + on your product? Will you allow me to buy one?....
I guess when you have more buyers than vehicles being built you can treat all your customers like mushrooms.
I completely understand why Collecting Cars is doing so well, it removes all the saleman/dealer BS (but comes with a different set of pitfalls). You bid - you buy, that's it.

The reality is £110,000 daily driver is mental.Do I spend £104K and go with a second choice or spend £110K and get exactly what I want.
It'll be my third car in a custom colour. Colour is very important to me, which is why I'm happy to pay for the choice. Other specifications are more important to others, ceramic brakes for instance, which is an option I would never choose.
Carbon fibre is another, does nothing for me whatsever. It does matter to me what colour my car is painted though, to the tune of £6k it seems.

Funnily enough Mamba green was my second choice!
I like a nice colour, not monochrome but I felt the car was just too big for Mamba, it's a small car colour.
I chose Mamba Green the non-black interior and those wheels too.I like a nice colour, not monochrome but I felt the car was just too big for Mamba, it's a small car colour.
I am bored rigid by black interiors.
Sadly as a retired person there are no tax or other benefits for me.
I have had at least 1 (two at the moment) petrol V8s for the last 35 years and was super impressed by the throttle response of the Taycan. I don't like the throttle response on any turbo car I have ever driven.
The dealer did say most are sold to business customers and most customers have come from big petrol engines like BMW M5 and Merc E63 cars.

Im struggling with the Turbo and Turbo S wheels in 20". These are best for range by quite a bit (nothing in it between 19" and 20" though) but in the flesh are a bit ugly - both i've seen have solid bits. One seems to have a black brake disk type thing behind the spokes that hides the shiny steel actual disk! Maybe better for aero?
I'm seriously researching Mission E look aftermarket forged wheels that look as OEM as poss. About £2500 for 22" (but I want 20").
I might well hold out for the MY22 as mine is due Sept and Oct is being mentioned now too - as Android phone connection will be a big bonus.
How long from end of production and getting car to UK to see if timings work?

Wheels are a substantial influence on the drag, and hence range, so all the aero choices will not be very open and be more like discs than chariot wheels.
I prefer wheels painted rather than having lacquered bright bits which always corrode.
