I'm interested in this too, no prices or specs for the new one in the UK yet.

Apparently it comes with cvt or 6 speed manual, and an electric version for the end of 2021.

Not familiar with Renault stuff, any inherent problems with the running gear?

Prices and specs on the Dacia site https://www.dacia.co.uk/vehicles/sandero/compare-m... The TCe90 Essential model at £8795 looks great value.

Yes but that's the out going model.

Thank you rotex. thumbup

Prices compare well to the outgoing model, considering the extra kit and other improvements.

Pleased with steel wheels too.

Anyone know what these clio cvt boxes are like?

The CVT box is fine, it’ll do the job just fine on a £14k Stepway. The EDC box is more expensive so being retained for the renault range

Ahh Thx, just discussed with Mrs PR she's happy with a manual.

Thinking of a stepway comfort in blue, I notice pre orders attract a service plan foc. Is it worth pre ordering or better to wait until launch?

You don’t have to go ahead if you pre order, and you’ll get your deposit back. The dealer you choose will just get a list of people who have pre ordered to contact and then you can actually order or not.

Thank you very helpful.

As an aside would it be worthwhile hanging on for the electric version? it's a runabout so quite fancy the idea, but at only 2-3k per annum I doubt it'd be financially viable.

As an educated guess what do suppose the premium would be? An extra £4k maybe?

The Stepway has a very good tech spec for the money.I think it’s also a good looking car.

The Stepway is reminiscent of a Matra Rancho, before crossovers were a thing. Perhaps it was even the 1st.

I liked those too back in the day.

I was thinking of a pre ordering a base Stepway, just over £11k with metallic paint, seems amazing value

It does look good, maybe even too posh for us with electronic fang dangles galore. I notice the comfort gets even more, much more than we want or need, except the soft feel steering wheel.

Is the std one that bad? Will we get splinters?

As a serial sheddist who hasn't owned a brand new car since 2002 I am thinking more and more about one of these. I am pretty certain the Essential TCE 90 in Highland Grey for £10,555 would be all the car I really need and would easily last me for 15 years+.

However, my girlfriend can only drive an Auto, and the only Auto version is the COMFORT TCE 90 AUTOMATIC which is £13,355 with metalic paint.

My current shed is 14 years old and getting a bit tired now, and it seems all second hand cars have gone up massively since Covid. I would probably be upping the shed budget to £5K next time, but I am thinking I could put £5K down as a deposit on one of these and hopefully pay under £100 a month?

As long as you don't mind paying for it for 7 years...

I wouldn't pay 13k for a Dacia. Sorry. I like them but at 13k... a few k more and you get a VW UP! GTI.

The whole positive of a Sandero is its like a Clio Campus. Cheery. Cheep, basic and ...cheap.

But a Sandero is the next size up from an Up. And £13k gets you an auto, which IIRC you can't get in an UP, never mind a GTI.

You're comparing Apples and Eggs. Dacias are cheap when directly compared to a direct competitor.

On PCP I would think so. Unfortunately we don't have the finance schemes available at the moment to quote properly.
