But a Sandero is the next size up from an Up. And £13k gets you an auto, which IIRC you can't get in an UP, never mind a GTI.

You're comparing Apples and Eggs. Dacias are cheap when directly compared to a direct competitor.
Its an 8k car all day long. At 13k id be looking at a Duster

Paid the £99 to reserve one of these. Comfort spec.

Perfect runaround for the mrs and the little one. Hopefully the pcp figures are decent when they release them.

Well,I ordered one.
Not the Stepway but I ticked nearly all the options. We have gone for the blue as the other colours were delivery in June,we can’t wait that long.

I nearly did, but then went for a pre reg duster instead. It's for Mrs CC. If she really hates dusting, we'll have a rethink.

I put the pre order deposit down but by the time I specced it up it was £12.5k. Bought a pre reg Duster Tce Bi Fuel in Comfort spec. Absolutely brilliant car.

I’m getting min for £0.45ppl. It means my Duster is doing about 109mpg compared to petrol cost.

I picked up my Sandero this morning, impressed is the word.
The interior maybe very plastic, hard plastic at that but overall it’s a very well equipped car.

The car will start on either petrol or gas and remember which fuel to start on next time you start. The carte libre(don’t know what it’s called in UK) unlocks the car when you approach and locks it when you walk away with the card on your person.Stop/start,emergency braking, the new nav is alot better than was in my Renault Trafic.
The cabin has a more spacious feeling than I expected.

So,after 20 km that’s my first impression,After driving a van it’s alot quieter and a damn site more comfortable.

I've been considering one of these, did think about a Duster but the auto box is probably going to sway me towards a Stepway Comfort. I'm justifying the Stepway because it looks better in white so is only £400 more than the normal Sandero in metallic.

I was going to have the Stepway but in France it has an orange infill around the heater vents, seat trim and would look st with any other paint colour than orange.
With the normal Sandero it is silver and goes with any colour paint.

That does sound a bit bizarre, but maybe that's just the tradeoff for a well priced but highly regarded hatch.

I found the duster packages a bit odd too. At least its straight forward.

Well the car is still going well and I run it on gas.We have covered 5000km and I haven’t filled up the petrol tank yet.
No squeaks or rattles, nothing broken but the 2 USB don’t work but they will be changed at the first service.
This week the Euro Ncap result came out and it got 2 stars, that was a shock and Mrs S wanted to change the car for something ‘safer’ but after reading up on it the test has been chaged and it was marked down for a rubbish AEB system not occupant protection.

So in a nut shell,we are impressed, very impressed. The car was cheap to buy,it’s cheap to run, efficient and relatively green running on gas. It’s also quiet and comfortable and perfectly damped for French back lanes.

Try one,you will wonder why you waste so much money on expensive car just to get from A to B.

First drive.

Blown away. Drives lovely, Wireless CarPlay works great, speakers are ace. Adjustability of the seat and steering wheel are great. CVT box is actually really good, electronic handbrake and keyless entry a great addition too.

We will sell them by the dozen.

Looks good, to keep the factory happy you should aim a little higher though. biggrin

Looks nice, the one I had on order was going to be in Moonstone or something like that. My LPG Duster has done 10k since Jan all on LPG. It’s a fantastic car.

I may have said before but.....The Stepway only really works in the Orange colour, otherwise you have a car with orange accents in the blower vents and seat stitching and blue or red paint.
I don’t get it........
