Black bumpers look ok when new - but what happens a few years later? I've seen so many go streaky that I'd avoid them.
Peanut butter.

My wife is looking at the Dacia range ...

.... seem to be a limited number of petrol Logans in the country at present. A facelifted version is apparently on route.
Some Logan production is to be moved to Morocco 'soon' to allow the Romanian factory to produce more Dusters. 2017 Facelifted version moves the horn button to the steering wheel hub, and the window switches to the arm rests. Radios are updated to DAB, MediaNav gets reverse camera option. Steering wheel upgraded to current Renault type.

Internal door handles on some 2017 models are 'satinised', for your convenience. VED goes up on some currently zero-rated models in April 2017.

Some dog owners say creaking Labradors find climbing into Duster a problemo. Logan sill is a little lower.

Cold weather TCe90 Duster owners are moaning about 30 MPG on short runs, cold weather Logan drivers with DCi90 engines get 60+.

There aren't many mechanical problems reported with either model, the Logan MCV is nicer to drive with less road/wind noise and better fuel consumption and is a bit Passaty, the Duster's all-wheel drive system is AWD-electro-clutch, not 4x4, 4x2 versions are £2K cheaper, the diesels have 80% more torque for £1K extra, and can be boosted to +10% torque for £130. (BlueSpark).

Suppliers to Dacia Romania include Eberspacher cat-exhausts, GKN driveshafts, Bosch ABS and drum brakes, BASF primers, BorgWarner waste-gates, Honeywell variable turbos (on the Duster) and Johnson Control interiors and instruments.

On my list this year - short list is pre owned Yeti(which I have had before and loved it ) or Mazda CX3 (ticks lots boxes ) and a new Duster- all 4wd variant . I need off road ability - not Defender type One Life Live It stuff though - and the Dacia does seem to make a lot of sense . Interested to hear of more owner experiences.

Agreed - I like the black bumpers too smile
It always seemed daft to promote a cheap, sensible utilitarian vehicle and then have fancy and expensive colour coded bumpers. Looks much more honest in plain black.

Have you seen any come in with the black bumpers like the 65 plate one pictured?

In the almost 4 years (think it's 4 and not 3) that Dacia has been in the UK now, I can only recall selling 3 Access Duster models, I'm pretty sure they all had body coloured bumpers.

I have sold 4 Access Sandero's; 1 private and three to a business, the private one was an early one and definately had black bumpers, the other three were this year, they had body coloured bumpers.

Do few people ask for them or do you manage to upsell? I was surprised that the salesman I dealt with didn't try to upsell me at all apart from checking I was aware of the barren spec and 14 week lead time

Very few people ask for Access models directly, we get the odd person who gets lured in by the headline price; more so with Sandero and they can generally be up sold easily, less so with the Duster.

At the training we were told that Renault expected Access models to only account for 7% penetration of sales in the UK with Duster.

Some dealers won't even entertain selling an Access Dacia, if a person enquires on an Access they will be told, "we don't sell then here", this is due to Access spec having only a 3% margin.
