My brother has a Stepway 1.5dci, which they are looking to sell as they've been offered a Honda Jazz from within the family (6k miles in 5 years lol)

WBAC are offering about 3k less than they paid for the Stepway new & its about 4 years old. That is damn inexpensive motoring from new & its been trouble free I'm sure.

Re the Stepway estate thingy: How high is the boot entry? Would be tempted in one for my wife but we have an elderly dog that needs a low entry boot.

Which engine did you go for? My wife bought a Logan MCV Laureate with a baby 0.9L Turbo to replace her ancient Octavia estate and it's not a bad car at all. It's well equipped (Nav, cruise control, reverse sensors etc.), comfortable, economic and has a massive load space, it actualy feels larger than the Octavia. On the downside the interior plastics are fairly nasty, there's a gap between the centre console tray and the dash which swallowed her parking card!
Went for the oil burner as I'd had no trouble with the previous one in 70k miles and I like the torque, found the 0.9 a bit screamey when I had one as a courtesy car.

Have to laugh at the dash monster, they have eaten many peoples cards over the years, 1st job was some tape over the new one.

Croyde - £70 for the current model radio from a breaker. Got lucky, some take the piss.

I don’t think you’ll find an Access in stock anywhere. Jamie at Bristol Street Motors Gloucester will happily order you one if you want one though, no drama.

I ordered mine on 31 December 2016 and took delivery on 10th March.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Access also has EBA - it has Hill hold assist which I don’t believe is advertised.

60 cm floor entry.

Being told that new orders for Dusters are being run down due to the new model coming soon and Dacia no longer list the base model on their website.

Looking forward to June when we've been invited to test day of the new Duster.

You can't get the Access anymore and there are only a total of 470 Dusters in any spec, available now.

That is the spec id like but i need the auto due to left leg issues,i did look around a Laureate dci edc and found it decent enough especially coming from a ageing saloon..

Spartan spec and auto would be my first choice..good to see many positive comments

When’s the new model due? Are they going to have a proper base spec or is that going away?

MotorVogue at Clapham near Bedford have an auto that they pre registered, you might be able to do a deal with them as the enquiries have dried up since all the diesel scaremongering

We are being told July, given the usual way that timings work on new models, I would say September realistically to start seeing them over here.

I don't know the specs but I don't see a reason why there won't be a base "UN" spec Duster, given the no frills ethos of Dacia.

They really haven’t ‘dried up’

I could actually sell lots more Duster if I could get them, but unless you just want a Laureate at the moment then you’re not getting one. No autos, no prestige or ambiance spec.

Diesel is still the preferential choice in the Duster IMO.

Sorry should have clarified, that's what that dealer told me on that specific spec car.

I know people are clambering over themselves to get new Dusters

Ah right. I’d disagree with the dealer myself, if we had Duster Autos we’d sell them!!

I'm a car person and would love a Duster in it's most basic form.

I have just sold my 2016 Mustang GT 5.0 so could get one tomorrow. Sorely tempted and I love the idea of getting a radio from Halfords and wiring it in myself.

Been looking at s/h models on Autotrader for the last 2 years and boy do they keep their prices.

I reckon you could buy the basic model for £9,500, keep it 3 years and easily sell it on for £5,000 plus.
The Dusters are better than I expected, but I wouldn't buy one unless I needed an off-road-able car. And I don't. I would have liked one for the week of winter we've just had, but once every decade isn't really worth buying a specific car for.

The Logan would make more sense.

Fitting a Sandero Stepway with some hot Clio parts could be good too.

Like this?

Shame it's never going to come to the UK, though I know someone who is trying to transplant a Clio 197 into one, always thought a Nismo Juke based one would be fun though.

Back to the OP though I just returned my 4 year old Sandero Stepway, just under 70k miles, hasn't cost me a penny other than usual costs during those 4 years and hasn't missed a beat, totally hassle free, had all the toys, aircon, cruise, electrics, media system/nav etc.

The difference between Dacia and others on PCP / HP is the relatively low deposit, many of the cars you see advertised for under £200 p/m or low finance etc need a deposit that normally equates to 1/3rd total price of a Dacia.

I'm now on my second Dacia (just over 24hrs ago), this time a Logan Stepway Summit, really impressed so far.

I hadn’t realised they did a Stepway version of the Logan MCV - yours looks really good!

As a Renault/Dacia dealer, we cannot get enough used Stepway Laureate TCe's, they are a licence to print money and they hold their money too.
As a Renault/Dacia dealer can you explain why it's so bloody hard to pin a salesman down to sell a Duster van?
Probably because no one had one.

When did you enquire?
Last year. We were replacing a pile of Nemo, Berlingo and Expert vans. There were a couple of Astra company cars getting changed too. We had an account with the fleet sales dept of a large multi franchise dealer.
We wanted one Dacia Van. My Astra SRI Estate was being replaced with a base hatch and I was so pissed off I decided I'd rather have a van and save a bit of tax and the Dacia Van was that wee bit different.
To start with the Dacia dealership would never return the fleet sales manager's calls. Eventually he suggested I visit the dealer personally. There the Dacia car salesman told me he doesn't sell vans and to see the Renault Commercial vehicle salesman. In turn the Renault Commercial salesman told me he doesn't deal at all with Dacia and go back to the Dacia car salesman.
Never got a quote for business use contract hire. Never got a test drive I asked for (not even a quick 5 minutes to check it fitted my small garage).
Impression I got was salesman didn't give a fk about the size of the order we were placing with the organisation or the amount of I'm going service and warranty work they received.
No immediate commission. No interest.

What's the verdict from enthusiastic drivers driving "avec exuberance" on challenging back roads in a Sandero or a Logan?

They launched it at the Geneva Motor Show last year, I flew out specifically to see it and do a report for DaciaWorld.

Little did I know I'd end up with one a year later, mine is the Summit SE (Dacia even use SE for Special Edition) half leather, reversing camera, different wheel trims and dash surrounds.

That does look very good from the outside. With a more grunty engine and if the handling feel is ok, that could be my ideal car.

They seem to be fitted with quite a few more toys than expected. Many probably not really required.

Expect body roll, lots of body roll, but I used to throw my old Stepway about quite a bit, once your used to the limits can be lots of fun near them, but it's never going to be a RS / GTi etc
