Is the new one going to be a completely different car with a price rise to match?

Total revamp, hugely improved interior.

Price wise, no news yet, expect to get some ideas in early June when I get my hands on a UK spec car.

I hope they keep the Base model. I like the idea of a cheap new car that doesn't make me cry when it gets dinged within weeks of collection.

What's the verdict from enthusiastic drivers driving "avec exuberance" on challenging back roads in a Sandero or a Logan?
It's already been answered. Everything is alright to the sudden point it isn't. Brisk slaloms appear to be working out OK until savage roll/understeer kicks in and merde happens. Unhelped by Kumho Eco-Wing tyres on many of the Sanderos, though Conti Eco-contacts on the Logan were OK.

The Sandero is softly sprung, in the French lollopy style but a bit under-damped. So it gets loose a bit too quickly. Makes for a nice cruisey ride though.

The heavier diesel Logan MCV handles better than the petrol Sandero on back roads, and, having owned both, would have another DCi Logan, but not another petrol Sandero.

I haven't driven a DCi Sandero. They're now both made in Morocco, I believe.

Currently driving a Shed 1.5 DCI Megane and I keep coming back to buying a brand new Sandero.

I would go for the Ambiance with the 0.9 turbo in Mercury which comes out at £8490. I could even put the megane towards it as scrappage and get another £500 off.

I have the same basic DCi engine in the Megane and although it gives great economy I think it is agricultural so wouldn't want that.

The only thing that is stopping me is could I get a better second hand car for £8k? I could also potentially get an i10/picanto for similar money once the scrappage is taken into account.

Anyone had the same choice to make and ended up with the Sandero?

I10 or Picanto are far smaller, not fair to compare them really. You could get a Skoda Citigo too if a smaller car is what you want

May end up with one if Astra shed fails the MOT spectacularly in May.

Other consideration is daughter learning to drive soon, so a modern car with C21 safety features would be good. Possibly cheaper insurance when she passes her test as a Sandero won’t be seen as ‘cool’ with her peers!

I could buy a used ‘something ‘ for the same price, but I’d be buying the relatively unknown & with brand new I’d get full manufacturer warranty & could take advantage of any deals at the time.

As to handling and noise at speed, it can't be worse than my 20 year old BMW that is in dire need of an overhaul on the suspension at least.

I followed a swiftly driven 2CV in the mountains near Nice many years ago.

He was going at a rate that was actually scaring me in my then new BMW. His car was leaning over like a motorbike.

It's what you are used to.

Doing 100 on my Kawasaki 900 was never as much fun as doing 70 on my Vespa hehe

That's quite an attractive interior.

One thing I hope they've sorted was the squishy shapeless unsupported seats. About the only thing I disliked about any Dacias I've been in.

Very similar for me, shed of a Scenic daily, keep thinking about a new Sandero.
Guess a test drive would help the decision .

Very popular in France; a common sight particularly in the rural areas. Fits the practical 'gets the job done' criterion.

Having read this thread I now really want a Sandero Stepway as my next station car!

Did an airport run for friends earlier in the Logan, amazed how much luggage fitted in the back. I used to love my Sandero Stepway but this Logan version runs rings around it.
