Scary thing is it would annihilate a Sandero 1.0 SCe 65 .

Claimed 0-60 of 16.7 seconds. Ouch !!
My wife had a Fabia 1.2 HTP that claimed 0-60 in about 15 seconds.

In reality, it was quite responsive and had torque where it mattered. It wasn't difficult to drive on a motorway or up a hill and I even overtook in it.

In daily driving it felt quicker than her previous, more powerful, faster redlined through the gears, 1.2 Micra.
Where I live there are shed loads of Dacia’s, mainly Dusters

It’s very rural, it’s hard to get above about 40 mph round the lanes and the main roads have a 50mph speed limit anyway

There is absolutely no need for a car that does a 0-60 traffic light sprint .., in fact I think the nearest traffic lights to us are around 20 miles away!

Amy thoughts on these? Seems alot of car for the money with the top spec one coming In under £18k new. 7 seater. Looks like a 4wd but isn't. Low running costs.

My wife currently drives a 14 year old Picasso with 180k on the clock and I have a tesla model 3 through work.

Lease prices currently seem very high on nhs fleet solutions so nothing jumps out on there and used prices seem strong on everything. £11000 for a 8 year old s max for example.

We're due to remortgage soon and have significant equity so assume we could use this to finance or savings.

Only issue is there aren't any available to see or drive In the flesh and you have to place an order for delivery May/ June.

I'm not expecting it to be fantastic but I'd hope it would be a step up from her old Picasso.

Thoughts?

I currently have a Dacia Logan Stepway which the Jogger replaces. The Logan has be absolutely brilliant and one of the most satisfying cars I've owned and has been a fantastic buy. I'm pretty sure I will be replacing it with a Jogger next year, on paper they look hard to beat for what you get at the price point. I think they look great too, in a quirky Skoda Yeti kind of way.

It would be worth checking out the new Sandero Stepway as the Jogger is based on a stretched version of the Sandero platform so everything in the cabin will be almost identical.

Sensible thinking , I think Dacia will do well with the Jogger . Entry level Dacia's in my opinion represent the best buys in the range.

Even some of the higher spec cars off great value compared to cars from other brands offering similar spec cars. They hold their value well too, my Dacia is worth more now than what I paid for it in June. They are now some of the strongest sellers in Europe, I think the Sandero and Duster are in the top 10. Have a feeling the jogger could become a good seller, especially when the hybrid arrives next year. Looks pretty good too

Renault/Dacia dealer here, we at dealer level and Dacia UK are expecting big things of the Jogger.

Get your pre order in for only £99, it gets you at the top of the order list, once demo and display cars arrive, which is March I believe and if you decide it's not for you then the £99is fully refundable.

This looks like a great practical car. I used to own a Octavia Scout which was great. The extra ride height/suspension travel smoothed out our terrible roads. Skoda U.K no longer import the Octavia Scout or the good looking Superb version. The only obvious competitor is the Subaru Outback at twice the price (I know that's 4WD).

What I can't understand is why Dacia isn't offering this car with the 1.3 150HP and Auto for approx £1500 more, it's a big car for 110HP/200NM.

I completely agree - I find it really strange when PHers say stuff like "18 grand for a Dacia? madness! They're only worth it if you get the dead basic version for 12k". Look under any article on Dacias to see what I mean. It's like they've forgotten that we're no longer in the year 1995 and that something like a Nissan Qashqai with the similar kit as the £18k Dacia could easily run to £30k.

To the Renault/Dacia dealer who said they're expecting big things of the Jogger - it's not difficult to see why! A good-looking super practical seven seater for under £20 deserves to fly off the shelves. it's even got decent ground clearance for those that care about such things. If they did a 4wd version it would be v. near the top of my 'last ICE car to buy new and keep forever' list.

I've done some off roading in my Logan, not serious land-rover type off roading, but its very capable on forestry tracks and unmade roads over the moors, ground clearance is pretty good

Interesting...that's exactly what I use my cars for too (on the North York Moors). Maybe I'll take a closer look at the Jogger in a few years then.

I think as long as you have suitable tyres you will probably be fine, I guess very bad snow or deep mud may be issues, but normal conditions should be fine. A big plus is the cost, I'd much rather bump or scratch a Dacia than something like a new Scout/Outback/Allroad

I would imagine it's not worth engineering it for that engine and gearbox combination (if even possible), when the hybrid is earmarked for it in the next 18m/2 years, given the way things are quickly moving, it's old tech.

The problem with the hybrid is the 1.6NA engine, its 91HP and 144NM. With a tiny 1.2kwh battery the electric motor won't be much use on a motorway journey. Have you driven the Clio at a consistent 70mph?

kerb weight is a relatively light 1,176kg, much lighter than the competition. My Logan is a similar size and has the 90bhp 0.9 turbo, it is surprisingly sprightly. It will be interesting to see what the final spec of the hybrid is. The newer Dacias are much more modern and in-line with Renault models, rather than just recycling old tech they are being developed alongside. The CMF-B is a much newer platform than that used on the Duster and old Sandero/Logan and shares much with current Renault/Nissan models
