..and a gratuitous pic. I'm still waiting on the tyres to arrive..... (BFGoodrich Ko2 with white lettering!)

These one aren't standard though, I had them banded 1 1/2" and then powder coated.
Nice.

Makes the brakes look huge. Guessing those aren't 16in, 15in?

Configurator not working on dacia site but poverty spec is now over 15K base, that's a hella hike.

Still reasonable value but now they have cut the lpg kit it only adds to the bargain the earlier cars were.

Hopefully our stepway bifuel will still arrive in a few months smile

I don't think its the same as the old poverty spec, probably similar to what the middle spec used to be. Essential comes aircon and infotainment etc, not like the old days of wind down windows and no stereo. Base Sandero still comes in at £12.5, thats still a lot cheaper than its rivals, especially considering its no longer on an old chassis with old tech

Exactly, the cheapest Peugeot 208 is now £19K and that comes with a 75BHP non turbo engine. The cheapest Clio is £18,795, the current Sandero is based on this floor pan and gets the same engine and gearbox.

Vauxhall Corsa is £17,330.00, Mazda 2 is £17,205.00, Ford Fiesta is £17,905 etc. etc.

New cars got very expensive over the last few years, although the Sandero has increased in price, so has everything else.

The essential doesn't have a touchscreen, but there is a place to hold your phone and use that as the screen. It doesn't have Parking Sensors, a reverse camera, keyless entry or an electric handbrake.

Probably the biggest penny pinching comes from the fact it has manual mirrors, manual rear windows and only 2 speakers for the stereo.

But at the price, if you can live without these things then nothing gets close price wise.

Essential hasn't changed from what I can see recently doesn't have infotainment just a dab radio, lads on here that got them for around 10K got a great deal.

I know the access got dropped but that isn't for everyone really.

The brochures online are still the old ones, but from what I can see on the main website it looks like the specs are the same, only the names have changed.

The Essential models only have two speakers and no media screen although you can use your phone via an app to control the radio. The essential has slightly different buttons on the right hand of the steering wheel which allow you to access all the functions of the radio via the steering wheel and 3.5 inch screen between the dials.

You can play MP3 files from your phone and there is a USB port on the dash that allows you to play MP3s.

The higher spec models don't have this ability and the majority of the functions have to be controlled via the touch screen on the dash.

Interesting, its hard to keep up with all the slight changes with the media stuff.

I liked the basic Sandero with the phone clip on the dash, wouldn't be adverse to that in the duster tbh.

Have noticed you can add a wireless charger now too which makes sense for the top end models with wireless android/carplay.

May see if I can get that added to the new build.

I'm completely with you, I can't stand having to scroll through menus on a screen whilst driving. I don't want lane assist, I don't want radar activated cruise control or any of the other unecessary crap that crammed into most other modern cars. I an not against tech in the slightest, its just most of it isn't needed. Its a waist of money and it's excessive weight. A few toys is nice but its all gone to far and it seems to be a race to who can add the most tech

I bought an Essential Duster and had parking sensors retro fitted at the dealer before I collected it. From memory it was £350. I figured that was probably cheaper than my wife damaging the rear bumper. laugh

I'd agree to a point.

Keyless go is genrally great, particularly when it's just you, I never have to worry about the key as long as I have it somewhere on me.

The only slight faff is if we're both loading the car and I walk away and the doors are closed it will lock and I'll get a shout to unlock it.

Definitely something I'd miss now.

Regarding Dusters.

Apparently heated seats are not standard on any teim level now? Not even sure they can be optioned, although I'd be surprised if not.

Looks like the new ones come with rain sensing wipers, that doesn't bother me too much it's hit and miss when they work properly.

I've also heard the interiors are different, more integrated dash vents rather than the round ones currently fitted.

I have them on my current Renault, every time it rains I end up overriding them as they never work at the correct speed. This is actually one thing I am more than happy to lose with the essential spec.

Received the following yesterday

"IT'S YOUR DACIA!
Hi Joey Deacon,

You've made a great choice and you're not alone. We've recently celebrated the production of our 10 millionth vehicle!

At Dacia we keep things simple and keep sight on the essentials: making affordable and reliable vehicles.

Our experienced team at our Dacia factory in Tangier, Morocco will be building your car. They couldn't be prouder of being part of the production team working on your Dacia.

From the conveyor belt, your car undergoes numerous quality checks, the last of which takes place at our Import Centre in Portbury, before being transported to your retailer."

I don't think I will be getting the car by late June/early July though!

Mine is well below par.

Front wings misaligned which throws bonnet gap off, dent on rear quarter and boot was wonky.

A bit st really and has been a hassle to sort.

My logan is OK, the panel gaps are a bit bigger than a premium car, but that is to be expected. No issues with alignment of bits though. Only thing I've really had an issue with was wind noise, but easily sorted it.

Anyone else here have quality issues?

Yeah mines just a "friday car" or there are BL type work practices over in Romania!

Interior however is very well put together, no rattles whatsoever.
