Dacia Bi-Fuel Cars

Any PHers with experience of the above?

Given the at-pump prices we are seeing, I spotted a few of these on the ol' Auto Trader and daily plodding in a nice spec Duster on almost half price gas certainly appeals.

Has LPG come a long way since folk were fitting tanks to the back of big Jeep Cherokees and the likes?

What about autogas availability, is it good? I know my local Morrisons does it and in 8 years of visits I've seen 1 person filling up with it!

Don't know about Dacia's but I used to have an LPG Alfa GTV and it always worked, and nearly halved my fuel bill. It did take up boot space though.

More generally, Italy had huge numbers of bi-fuel cars so there can't be much wrong with them.

From my experience, quite a few years ago, I'd say they're nothing to worry about. I still see the odd car at an Autogas pump and feel a bit sad I no longer have that Alfa!

A large percentage of private hire cars I'm seeing on the M25 going to/from the airports seem to have been converted to LPG with the recent fuel prices, so it must be making sense.

Been running a 999cc Duster LPG since Jan 2020 and 43000 miles. Happy to answer any questions.

My Sandero runs better on gas than petrol.

My Duster too! The LPG Duster is Tce 100 not 90. I think the non LPG owners would st the bed at the power delivery.

On gas it really is a nice car to drive,smooth and quiet.
Much better than I was expecting.
