I've seen and followed a few of DMN's posts, and although I'm just another anonymous contributor, the news has come as quite a shock as he's one of the regulars around here.

Requiescat in pace, godspeed.

Spent a few hours reading back some of his posts, he was a funny bugger! hehe

The recent story of his toilet adventures in hospital and his recent (now very hard hitting) posts on mortality show his true colours. What a great guy, sure he touched a lot of people IRL too.

Bet he never thought random people on a bloody Internet forum would be talking about him after he'd gone. The worlds a funny old place.

I hope his family are coping ok, anyone who knows them please pass on our regards.

Again, shocked by this. He was a regular contributor to the Depression thread in Health Matters, and always helped those of us that needed it with wise, balanced, and genuine advice. Never met him, but certainly struck me as one of life's good ones.
RIP DMN.

So so tragic. He was a huge help to fellow posters on the depression thread. Such wise helpful words from such a nice genuine guy.

You will be missed DMN.

RIP buddy....

I'm in the camp of not knowing him in 'real life' but followed his thread about Lily very closely.

Knowing they are reunited is comforting. He wrote so well and helped so many of the rest of us through our own struggles. A top guy and someone we should all aspire to being more alike.

Rest peacefully.

Wow, this is very saddening to read.

Can't say I have had the benefit of conversing with DMN in the past on PH but I do recall the name.

It's a very sad tale and I hope he can now find peace as the weight of the world has been lifted

RIP fellow petrol friend. I hope his funeral is loud and full of engine fury. <3

If those close to the family could find their preferred cause for donations I am sure the PH community would make the odd donation.
Thank you for asking, his wife has asked that rather than flowers; donations are made to BHF please smile
Thanks for this - I queried this on the other thread so will send a donation as my mark of respect to a man I never knew, and yet felt like an old friend.

I never met Russell and, as a relative newcomer, I'm not sure I ever really spoke to him online much either. But I felt genuinely lost when I read of his passing. Sadly I already have a customer job booked on the 16th, but if there's something happening in the evening I'd like to pop down if a complete stranger would be welcome.

I read as while ago of his intention to scatter Lily's ashes up in the highlands; did he ever manage this?

RIP DMN

Already said as much in the lounge the day after him passing, but we lost one of the good guys here frown

I have no reasonable way to do anything with regards to the funeral (live on the continent), but i expect there to be a decent PH delegation either way

I have no doubt that PHers will be there in a meaningful way. He touched many of us. I would love to be there but as I live in Canada this is not likely.

Met Russell only briefly but had a good couple of chinwags with him on the phone and on the trivial thread. He will be missed frown

The Lily thread was what made me realise that behind the veil of keyboard warriorship and powerfully built directors, PH had a heart. I'm so sad that real life doesn't deliver the fairytale ending that it's protagonists so often deserve.

Rest in peace.

Threads about forum members who have died are sad, but Russ' writing gave me strength through some stty times.

More than most of the rest of us put together on here, he'll be truly missed.

I never met him, but looking at the all tributes I really wish I had...
