Well, the Malcolm Wilson was interesting, eventually won by Stephen Petch with Jock Armstrong third in the Skodaru (an R5 Skoda with an Impreza engine and gearbox)

I will be there but doing "backroom" work (glorified gofer) so I won't actually see any of the cars on stage.

Enjoy the event there are some really good viewing points on the stages. (so I am told, having never actually spectated on this event)

Some sad news; one of the all time great versatile drivers, Vic Elford has passed away after a battle against cancer.

He really could do it all; in 1968 won the Monte in a Porsche, and a week later won Daytona 24 Hours for them. In F1 he finished in an average car at Monaco, and became the only driver to finishes in both the major events in Monte Carlo.

What a driver and so brave. Huge loss.

I’m just about to head to the Nicky Nook stage myself. Not been to a rally for several years and it looks like it’s going to be a lovely day smile

The joy of rallying - only the first car made it through Stage 4 before there was a crash

Just back from the Rally North Wales, a bit disappointed with the new Bowler Defenders They just sound like road cars. A bowler to me needs to be a V8. Otherwise a good event.

Yes, I was looking forward to them, and was expecting some growling noises; instead they came past with no drama at all......rather disappointing!

However, what a fabulous day's rallying; weather was glorious and plenty of cars throughout the day; the Capri and the 131 were my favourites.

Taken from the “BMW Mini Challenge fb site, originally posted by Challenge organiser, John Goff:

“I would like to point out that on Stage 4 Mick and Paul aka (Steve) set a time of 6.57, the fastest BOWLER was 7.13 I haven't checked any others but I'd say their 150k package plus taking over the whole service park which we were supposed to share gives a result.
Mini's 1 Bowler's 0”

The BMW Minis are 1600 n/a budget cars with very limited mods.
