Not sure I could give a monkeys that none of that crap is present - less to go wrong.
Very true. It is appealing from that aspect but the trade off is that without fleet and commercial sales you end up like LR just selling 12k units a year to the suburban and urban leisure market.

To stay alive they need to sell a lot more than that. frown

I think this is a point that should not be ignored. Lotus's move into America with the Elise and Evora was specifically aimed at the US. A huge fluff in magazines and online as the car to have, a Porsche beater. They stalled because once the enthusiasts bought them that was it, they also had no Finance system and so the production numbers tanked.

Grenadier does not share that lime light. JLR have not killed off their 4x4 segment are just making Range Rovers and now. Neither are G-Wagen. This is aimed at the Bronco but marketed like a modern Mini with Union Jack theme but a European construction. Also bear in mind Britain is heading into a recession so 4x4s that do 18mpg are not going to be a popular choice for people outside of those enthusiast owner or popular with the main driver of SUV and 4x4 sales - Women.
If you have ordered one you will be able to enjoy the glow of it being rare and unique.
