We had a New Ford Galaxy 2.0 tdci Ghia at the time, now that is a superb family car, just not great off road.
And yet, ironically, it’s where they belong. wink
Not something you want, but its really did its job well and drove so nicely, very useful as well.

How much did an end of the line CSW (or equivalent) weigh? The 2.6T they're estimating is D4 territory, and my '95 110 van was 1.8T iirc.
That would be the "110 Station Wagon" but it would also depend on the options selected...

Without options - 2056kg
With all options - 2246kg

My 2014 Defender brochure puts the kerb weight of a 7-seater 110 Station Wagon at 2.123 tons, and a gross weight of 3.050 tons.

A 110 Hard Top was 1.955 tons kerb weight.
Cheers. That's a fair bit extra.

Where does that leave it as far as the commercial vehicle tax break? Doesn't it need a 1T payload?

ETA I suppose you knock a bit off for some roof and windows.

Just the standard estate or 'station wagon' (shudder) as I think they called it on the video. What I'd really like to do is build an off road camper one day!

Is it me, or is it quite a bit wider than a Land Rover?
I thought that too. The width made me think of a Nissan Patrol

Depends on the variant but all of them (other than the Heavy Duty) have a GVW of 3050kg... Here's the kerb weights (dependent on options):

110 Pick Up 1911kg - 2022kg
110 Hard Top 1959kg - 2084kg
110 Soft Top 1854kg - 1948kg
110 Hi Cap 1932kg - 2043kg
110 Double Cab 2036kg - 2159kg

...so you have to be careful when selecting the options on the Hard Top or Double Cab. wink

That's CG, I assume over an early prototype?
Found this:

No, I mean the video isn't of an actual vehicle. It looks like it's CGI?

Cheers. I meant the Ineos. If it's 2.6 unladen, even with a gvw of 3.5T you're buggered.

Where's the source for dimensions and weights coming from?

Fair point. I assumed it was official in some way, but in hindsight it's unlikely.

Doesn’t look much different to me. I think the grill design makes it look more squat at the front. Which might give the impression of width.

Really?? Maybe they are in the wrong game if they can produce CGI like this.

It looks good, but did it say 'prices beginning with a 4, plus vat'? That puts it a price of £48k!

70 inches wide. So fairly narrow by modern standards.

Hilux, ranger, l200 etc are all around 73-74 inches wide and an f150 is around 80 inches wide.

Definitely not real.

It’s CGI for sure. Looks like a video game.

In that video, the Grenadier itself is CGI. Look closely at the line the front tyres begin to trace at 2:14; the vehicle turns more than the angle of the front wheels. wink

I didn’t have the sound on. Go to the Ineo site. It has the same content in a different order. And no mention of price. Until they have a launch date I can’t see the point in them revealing the price. As things could change a lot between now and then.

I don't have the options list in front of me but it'll be things like:
  • Carpets
  • 3rd Row seats
  • Running boards
  • Premium Upholstery
  • Steel wheels
  • Sun roof
  • Air con

Indeed, on the Ineos youtube video from which the Auto Express film takes the clips it clearly states 'CGI Representation'.
