3D printed kitcar parts
Discussion
A few of the patents ran out early this year so there may be some more interesting printers coming along at a more reasonable price, not just melted plastic.
If money is no object see what the Chinese can print now

You guys may have seen this website before, really creative use of the 3D print technology. http://replicadb4.com/
The machine used is made by these guys, looks like a reasonable price? http://www.solidoodle.com/

Another part off the 3D printer today. This jig is a tool to help me fabricate the rear light clusters using 5mm LEDs.

I've even started trying to 3D model the whole car now :-)
Been there, done that:-I was "experimenting" with wheels in this one - I quite liked the look of this.
I've since improved the shape & added mirrors a load of other twiddly bits - drawn on CATIA V5.

That is very cool. I was hoping to do something similar for my next car but I don't have the time of knowledge.I was "experimenting" with wheels in this one - I quite liked the look of this.

I would love to buy a 3D printed Fury if someone were to make one...
What's the resolution like on the machine you use, Rob? Last time I looked at the cheaper printers they were all a bit grainy. Not such a problem when you're making flat faced cube shapes but printing something curvy like a Fury wouldn't come out so well.
