Hi all - a little help on Driveshafts/hubs/carriers FORD
Discussion
Hi all,
im building a space-frame chassis for my project, which is totally bespoke. A long time ago i decided upon using cortina front suspension and hubs etc for ease.
In order to match this i went with Sierra Rear Driveshafts at the rear - this retains the same stud pattern and gives a good brake balance using stock calipers.
My question is this; Assuming i want to use bolt on shafts (I have 108mm granada shafts) what stub axle/bearing carrier/hub combos work? Can i mix 108mm granada shafts with 108mm Sierra Carriers and Stub axles? Or can i use Scorpio bearing carriers and hubs if i wanted 5 stud?
Cheers
Steve

Yes but why would you want 5 stud rear 4 stud front?
The 108 pcd shafts are interchangeable but use the 7 ½" diff which is bigger, heavier and generally more expensive
The Granada diff is usual open as it had traction control the Sierra Cosworth usually LSD but you pay Cossy prices
7" Sierra diffs come in many flavours from 3.92 to 3.14 and you can usually find a 3.6 or 3.9LSD

Thank you! Sorry I should be more clear. The driveshafts are going onto an audi 01e gearbox, so lobro inners areprefered for easy of adapting.
The reason I wanted 5 stud was due to a bigger selection of alloys- I can easily re drill the fronts to match without an issue. I have 108mm driveshafts and was going to source some sierra or similar bearing carriers and hubs. Just need to know if it's ok to buy these bits from different cars (sierra not granada) and whether they'll fit....
