BMW Z3 with Ferrari 250 SWB kit
Discussion
I think these are superb (without the ferrari badges). They exude old school design and charm with better manners and reliability. Seems to me a perfect blend. Clearly no match for a real 250, but how many people are going to get near to owning an original.
I would definitely consider one of these......... no I would like one of these.

Thanks for all the positivity I'm really pleased with the look. The colour, wheel choice, lowered stance, jack hole covers were all unchartered territory for this kit at this stage so although i photoshopped the hell out of the demonstrator I was never really sure exactly how it would stack up.
The grp bodykit cost £3950, I spent over 4k on parts (2k on the knock on wheels and tyres alone) including custom made alloy mouth and bumpers (currently being fabricated), original indicators and door handles, new seats etc.
Then you've got your donor cost - I went for low mileage facelift 2.8.
Then you've got the agents build & paint fee.
You can save money - second hand bolt on wheels, classic mini door handles etc. but the devil's in the details as they say.
The car will be at Stoneleigh Kit Car show when the bumpers and mouth will be on - so if you're about come and have a look and a chat
Currently I'm undecided about whether to fit the spotlights in the mouth when the grill goes in - I quite like the clean look. Appreciate any thoughts - fit/don't fit?

What's the drive-in drive-out cost of these? Fancied the idea of classic looks + modern running gear for ages.

No to spotlights IMO.
What's the date for Stoneleigh?

Hmmm... one of these on a Z3M... then I could annoy everyone.
Cost would be a factor.
My plan as well, but I think I'd go for the coupe version.Cost would be a factor.

Hi,
I am very surprised of this very nice possiblility to change a Z 3. I like the california-roadster and the 250 coupè.
It would be the best if I find a ready car nearby (northwest of Germany / Nederlands/Belgium) to see some details and how to build.
If there is somebody to present his car I woul like to come.

The car most likely will only be at the show on the Monday, the grey Koupe will be there on the Sunday as well.
I have now had some had some bumpers fabricated for the car by a local company (Bonville Panelcraft in Essex) and it has made a huge difference to the look.
