Had the dash professionally covered in leather with period stitching and really pleased with the overall effect now with all the gauges fitted.

Dash looks stunning! I tried to message you but your email is off (probably a wise move!)
Any chance you could message me with trimmer details? I'm struggling to find some one to do the dash conversion for me. Only one quote so far which was 4k (including dash and gauges).

I'll also be wanting to know some details about trimming in the Summer (no jokes about beachwear, please - I am talking about the car smile )

Been busy on the exterior and Grassbank rear screen and trim. Front grill and Marchal fog lights fitted. Going to do a camber adjustment to correct the ‘splayed’ wheel look from the back and then to narrow the track slightly, replace the Z3 hubs with Z4.

Are you planning to cut a section out of the lower suspension arms? Greenbank's solution was very professional. I don't know what it cost him, but it wouldn't have been cheap.

If I were building a 250, there are some very good mods that Greenbank has developed that I would be using. Are you using his electric windows?

The camber kit involves welding plates with slotted holes to the wishbone mounts both sides of the diff carrier allowing adjustment of the camber.

Sorry forgot to answer your other question about Grassbank windows: no I’m not going for those, they do look good but just too much for my budget on this build. Gone for their bigger rear screen, the stainless guide plates for the bonnet to sill join, front scuttle cover, gear lever extension and knob, and ‘knock on’ wires and spinners.
Haven’t decided on a colour yet but very tempted to go 1964 Aston Sierra dark blue. Saw a beauty at Brooklands NYD meet and it looked so good.

Got the rear end all back in today and will set the ride height tomorrow to see if the camber adjustment along with narrower Z4 hubs has done the trick.

It looks like you are doing this work with the body on. Reasons?

This would be on of my many questions of someone who has built a kit car.

I see it as two projects. Rolling chassis and "kit car parts". Ideally, I'd have two production lines, but space and working solo are major constraints.

I was waiting for various suspension parts, powder coating etc so started on the body work fitment and then boot and boot lock, door skins and handles, wheel arch liners, lights, wiring and grill before taking it all off again so body can be prepped and painted in a few weeks.
The main rear body section was not bonded on at this stage, just temporary bolts to hold in place but it doesn’t affect access to the underside anyway so fitted suspension with it on.
The body has to come off again to do the main headlining (easier to do as the roll bar is not in the way then) and then the body can be bonded on permanently.
Hope that all makes sense.

Have put the old Z3 wheels on for now but pleased with the stance of the car now (needs a tweak because it’s actually slight negative camber now) and the new wheels and spinners when they go on will be inside the wheelarch line.

Is that Rosso Rubino?

I'm planning doing mine in that colour.

Hi all. Thanks for your comments.
The colour is Ferrari paint code FER312 (sorry don’t know what it’s name is)
The leather dash trimming was £270.
