Having just seen the latest RSR escort built for a customer, excuse my lack of knowledge on kitcars but how difficult would it be to make these cars road legal? Any idea how much these things cost, obviously dependant on spec but the frame, chassis and body shell, what kinda coin are these?

I asked in 2014. £10k plus vat for the body, lights and chassis kit, They hadn’t had any that were made road legal and didn’t seem that interested in doing so.

I suggested that they if they could make it IRS, a bit cheaper and based on an mx5 donor they’d sell quite a few.

“This is a serious competition machine not a budget kit car” was the reply.

or can they build such car, more roadworthy interior, on a original escort base or just the plate and take the best/strongest parts from the RSR kit?
they look so awesome.

Im doing something very similar to a capri (higher spec though), but with a carbon body and specifically for the road.

Like the RSR only the glass is ford, rest is bespoke and thus expensive.

Sounds very good Andy, low weight, big power, RS race classic looks.
