As can be seen from other threads on this forum, I am looking at the kit car market. I visited a Westfield used dealer who said that he thought that Westfield was a better bet to buy as they are the market leader and infered that westfields were better made. As my other option to the TS40 was a Dax Rush what is the general concensous to the build quality of the cheaper Dax Rush with the 2 litre pinto engine.

In my opinion the new Dax kits have a higher quality grade.
I own a Westfield. I visitted DJS and was impressed by the quality of their cars.

Certainly I was very impressed with the engineering at DAX at Donnigton the BEC (my particular favourite) was excellent, well thought through in every way.

Mind you DAX, if I recall correctly have always had a good reputation for good quality kits. (I've always been interested in kit-cars since "kit car and specials" magazine, long time ago)

I think its a close competition between DAX and Westfield (caterham have gone down in my estimation, see my post on Donnington).

I don't think there is that great a difference in the quality of the kits themselves (if anything I would go for DAX) but quality of build has a lot to do with simplicity of build, support from the factory and the keeness of the builder. Some people may be able to comment on the support they have received. If you're struggling to choose I would buy both build manuals and see which one appeals the most. BUT definately DAX are worth considering.
