Hi all, following a successful IVA test I'm now trying to work my way through the registration process.

Looking at my IVA certificate there is no data for the CO2, as i think they do a basic check for the engine pre 1992 emissions test 1200 ppm on hydrocarbons and 5% co.

So when completing the paperwork it asks me to send in a cheque to tax the vehicle however I've no idea what to select. Do I go off the original manufacturers data, or with our IVA Cats in place do I need to get another test for the actual co2 emissions as it is now.

If anyone has any insight be great to get a little advice.

Thanks

Equus

"If no type approval or CO2 emissions figure is recorded on the type approval certificate, the vehicle will be taxed in the PLG tax class."

That's the way I read it.

For MOT my 6.7L is 'visual smoke only'.....result.

I asked a tester what his definition of visual smoke was. he said he revs it up a few times and it passes if he can still see the other side of the workshop.

My 1987 347 just passed its first MOT on visual smoke, it seems the IVA inspector did not record any readings so with nothing to work to from the computer it automatically becomes visual smoke, result.

This also means a set of quad webers can be fitted with no concerns. Happy days…

All kit cars are PLG regardless of whether it states Co levels on V5.
Only two types of PLG tax, under 1549cc or over 1549cc engine sizes.

Check the front page of your V5C section 3 Special Notes.
I expect you will find the words 'EMISSIONS - VISUAL TEST ONLY'
