Registered way back in 1990 though. I'm sure they must have fixed whatever loophole by now, surely?
Given the thread title, let's not forget that registration and testing are two separate processes.

Testing has changed massively over the years (from a simple MOT, via SVA, to the current IVA process, which itself has been amended many times).

The registration process has remained essentially unchanged thoughout, so I've no partricular expectation that the rules have been tightened up on that side of things.

Those two cars took me a 5-minute image search on Google; I came across all sorts of alternatives from 'Mirage Sports', 'Mirage Countach', 'Toyota Murcialego', 'Toyota Unknown'.

What I didn't find, to be fair (not saying that they don't exist - just that I didn't come across any in a 5 minute search) was anything that used false names for both marque and model (ie. 'Lamborghini Countach' or 'Lamborghini Murceilago').
