Need to weigh up the benefits of the reputed ease of build of the Westfield against the cheaper and more accommodating MNR which is made just up the road. Decisions, decisions....

I think this has been talked about before and 1 theres no space to put the turbo kit under the engine cover, and 2 this is a kit to be done cheaply and adding the turbo kit on top and the needed adjustments to body etc starts to make higher starting price kits a better option for 200bhp.

Anyone know if its as simple as cutting a hole in the bonnet or does the chassis frame need to be altered. Considering a kit but only if my engine fits, it has a GT28 turbo strapped to the side of it. To fit it in the MX5 bay I had to modify the MX5 with a hammer..

Had a quick glance, I see he's doing the toyota COPS I did them to my engine earlier this year incase he needs any pointers.

The pic in the bay is lacking a turbo from what I can see and it does look like the chassis would need fabrication to fit my GT28, I'd need to get the ruler out and ask someone for measurements.

Here's what Flyin Miata say.

Our turbo kits won't fit without modification, but we're certainly going to make those modifications work.
Who's kit is it you want to fit? (Not that I've heard of any that do fit, but someone might have)

I've had a BEGi kit on my car for the last couple of years, the primary components remain but much has changed. From reading about the Westy kit I'd want to retain the manifold, turbo, downpipe setup which are all BEGi. The GT series turbo is physically big though, to make it fit in the MX5 engine bay you have to hammer the spot welded seem for the front wing / suspension mount flat.

The turbo housing physically wouldn't fit without the modification.

Interesting looking throught all the pics, I'd almost wonder if its easier just to modify the frame?
