can this guy not get anything correct, every week there are mistakes, this week

1/ Snippets 2...overstaying in a disabled bay £70.00 reduced to £325 if paid within 21 days...

2/ ...overstaying in a pay/display £60.00 reduced to £340.00 if paid quickly

Tried & Tested

Fuel survey by Thorney Motorsport....article does not exist

what a sad excuse for a site, I have now stopped reading it because they must think all kitcar bods are thick and will except any old rubbish.

Well its all working correctly now, less than an hour after you edited your post.

Call me cynical but your apparent outrage at a couple of seemingly minor typo errors does indicate that maybe you have an underlying reason for your outburst that goes further than what you're letting on.

If Im wrong then apologies but to go on the attack with a title such as this for a couple of minor inaccuracies which have been corrected within an hour does strike me as rather OTT, hence the suspicion of an underlying reason for the outburst.

I always enjoy any updates from the kit car world and appreciate that it's a free site. My only bugbear is the number of dead/incorrect links that are listed in articles for new companies/products...

Apologies accepted, I am only Jo Bloggs kitcar enthusiast, I edited my post because there was a lot more criticism and I thought to list every error was not the thing to do.

I would like to say that I fully support Steve, Nat and the crew at TKC, both online and in print.

Reporting consistently on our scene is difficult as some manufacturers are not exactly forthcoming in supplying interesting stories for the magazines and media to work with-particularly on a weekly basis which Steve strives to achieve with the website.

I completely agree that basic grammar/spelling/wrong information should not be there, but hey we all make mistakes from time to time, and it is also possible that they may be supplied with duff info which they replicate in good faith (with dead links being a good example).

Steve & co are avid, enthusiastic supporters of our industry, shouting loud and proud about what we do. We should all be supporting them in every way that we can, and if there are areas of concern or problems surely they would be better addressed privately with the people involved rather than aired at the first opportunity in public on a forum like this?

I believe that we need to positively promote the industry, including the media which follows it, fair enough standards have to be high, but as well as doing the British thing of complaining when we get the chance, how about applauding people for doing a good job too.

Steve Hole at Total Kit Car, Ian Stent at Complete Kit Car and Ian Hyne at Kit Car, good work fella's!! Keep up the drive for quality, keep digging for the stories, and keep spreading the word that the industry is filled with good products and great people.

Neil.

Thank's for the post Neil, although I do think you have a vested interest in supporting TKC?

I have ALWAYS enjoyed reading TKC it's just the mistakes week on week that let it down,(and that makes a mockery of it's sincerity) also, 35 lines without a Paragraph makes it harder to read, but I can see they will get more words on the page without them.

I have been trying to read the Thorney article for the last 3 weeks, but at least now I have done so, and yes I will look forward to next Fridays update.

I know the site is free, but just don't let it seem like 7 year olds are typing the Copy.

The mainstream mags often have similar problems.

I'm sure Steve would be very happy to pay for someone to 'proof read' the Total Kit Car site, if everyone paid a couple of £ to look at it.

seems a bit harsh for a few things wrong on a free site, I'm sure you'd find more wrong on mine.... if you paid to use the site I could understand your anger.

Not anger but flustration, when Steve keeps banging on about how good they are then they can expect criticism when they make the most stupid of mistakes.

Christ knows what the magazine is like, I did not bother to buy after the example of the website.

Also, whilst I'm on my soapbox,
I have never met Steve and I'm sure he is a good bloke with his heart in the right place, but I do think he would be better served if HE actully built a kitcar (or helped) and drove it to meetings instead of driving a BMW, (a bit hypocritical?) I do not mean any offence by this.

I'm sure most that read the site have built a kit in the past (including me) and driven it most days?

Hmm...Think I will take cover now.

Sorry Tony, but it looks like you are just after a fight.

You criticise the punctuation etc on the site, yet you do not take time to check your own.

Steve is a well respected person in the industry and I believe very few will support your comments.

For the record imho, the Total Kit Car mag is excellent.

Maybe I have a 'vested interested' in the mag / website??????

He has got a GTM Spyder, albeit not built by himself but he has one at least.

I'm sure he's like most kit car owners, he's got the BMW for work and the GTM for play.

Can't see what's wrong with that.

I'm not writing the copy for a website, so, I don't see it matters?

I have never seen Steve admit to owning a kitcar personally on his site? and I have been reading it for what is I think 2 years.

I know the magazine/3rd party own a GTM, are you saying Steve bought this car out of his own pocket?

Does it matter if he owns it personally or through his company?

Nothing unusual about publishers of kit car magazines not driving everywhere in kit cars. When I went to try out the AGM Revolution-X for totalkitcar magazine, Ian Stent (who now publishes Complete Kit Car) turned up in a diesel Peugeot estate. At least I was in a kit car. smile

Pretty sure that either Peter Filby or Den Tanner drives a BMW too.
