1600 XFlo Rocker Cover Filler Cap

The seal in my rocker cover filler cap has given up the ghost and is leaking oil all over the place.
I've rung Ford and it's different to the standard part, been to the local Auto Factors and they haven't got a clue.
Anyone know where I can a seal for the cap or a new cap? Pictures below -

Had one similar once which I think used a cork seal. As it's an aftermarket part you're unlikely to be able to buy a replacement seal, so you'll have to make one.
Try asking at your local hardware store (NOT the big chains) to see if they stock or can obtain cork or rubber sheeting. It's surprising what some of these places can supply if you ask.
If that fails, then try asking local engineering or pipework companies because they often use gasket making materials such as CAF (Compressed Asbestos Fibre) or now more likely NAJ (Non Asbestos Jointing). With a bit of luck you'll be able to cadge a suitable scrap offcut for nowt.
Once you've got your material (make sure you get the right thickness) it's then just a question of carefully marking off and cutting out the new seal. Easy.

I was thinking of getting some sheet cork and seeing what could be done.
Had a few problems with the engine recently (just as it gets back on the road
) - running hot all the time, carbs unbalancing themselves, ticking cam follower (I think).
I checked the dipstick on Saturday and there was virtually NO oil in it, despite filling it up not so long ago and it not being run properly. I filled it up, left it to settle, went for a drive, saw a lovely sunset and parked up to take a photo of the car by it, glanced underneath only to find a HUGE puddle of oil under the car
Also before I filled it up with oil I noticed the catch tank was FULL
but I only glanced at it, didn't register in my brain.

Sounds like you're having a pretty crappy time car wise at the moment Graham.
Can't help with the Burton stuff other than to tell you that I once had a Burton Pinto cam cover which was designed to take the standard Ford plastic mushroom oil filler/breather cap (as also used on X-Flow and V6). Best to phone Burton and ask if the alloy one is replacement for standard plastic one.

IIRC the standard Cross Flow filler cap was the plastic mushroom thingy.
My problem is that my rocker cover is non-standard, a Speedwell(?), so I've been told.
They were used to look good and to remove more heat from the engine (apparently) but cost too much to produce to be used as standard by Ford.
I'll give Burton a ring and see if they can help me.
