I do have a complete mk1 Escort back axle going spare if you are interested. It was fine when I took it off a Dutton and popped it in my shed, yours for £50 if you are interested.

Peetbee,

I'd have it tomorrow if I had anywhere to put it!

I can't get a garage to do the build in until January at the earliest and I very much doubt the gf would be sympathetic to the (ever-increasing) collection of tools and smelly vehicle bits in my room growing by an Escort rear axle!

At the moment I'm in the planning stage. I'm basically trying to figure out if I have the resources to make this happen.

My plan is, come graduation in december, to know exactly what I can do myself and what I'll need someone else to do, then begin collecting bits on that basis.

I've already got a few mates trawling the country looking for various bits. The Silvia engine was one of theirs' before the bush incident, now it's waiting to see if I'll be able to provide it with a new home.

I'll meausre up the gearbox next time I'm up north.

Cheers for the input guys.

Well if you've still got it in January it'll be an entirely different story I promise you!

a word about nissan motors.
my brother is currently in the early stages of building an mk locost with a 1.8 nissan 200 turbo motor.the tunel required widening by just over 1" to get the box to fit,mk was happy to build the modified chassis at no extra cost.
dont know if thats any help.
