I'm going to get in trouble - I'm sure of it, but Kit Car magazine has ALL the specialst insurers ads. Many of them repeated too!

14 companies in the Sept issue I think.

Buy a copy tomorrw morning and you're bound to get cover from one of them.

Ted - Did i do wrong?

No need to buy KitCar Mag now - thats all of them from there!

I presonally recommend Adrian Flux (Elite Insurance) as my brother-in-law recommended them to me, I rang them and the people were very helpful indeed!

I was in the same situation a couple of months back and HIC sorted me within an hour of my phone call. Very good service and low premium.

I'm trying to arrange insurance for my Westy. I given Hill House Hammond a call who quote me 6000 miles for £273. I will call Adrian Flux (when their computers decide to work) for a comparison. Are the others on this list worth a call after that, and for track days what is the deal for insurance, they said it didn't include it, but I could add extra policy with £1500 excess and £61 per day which seems very very steep to me....do most people go uninsured?

So how much are people paying to insure their kit?

I have been lead to believe kit car insurance is quite reasonable. But what's reasonable? Classic cars are cheap, a ford tin box etc is average, imports are stupid and proper sports cars can be impossible.

But that's just my opinion.

Thanks to all for help.

I tried a few companys.
New policy at 5k per year.
Osborne £214.00
Adrian Flux £189.00. But would only cover on chassis no for 30 days.
Footman James £301.00, My past experiance with a Westfield had always found these to be best.
Backford Bloor £306.
So Osborne it is for me.

And the mot... it didnt even get there.
checked car on sunday and all was well.
got up early monday for mot.
something dripping under rear of car.
fuel tank leaking in 5 places.
this was a new tank when i started but must have had water in it for a while.
have removed it this weekend to fix.
still sulking.

I currently use Adrian Flux

They also offer cheap recovery (£35) on top of standard insurance.

Don't forget to specify limited mileage to keep the cost down

https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/index.htm

Mines currently £129 + £35 recovery for 3,000 miles
