OK I'm going..... but who else is and if there are enough shall we meet up?

I'm also planning a few runs around the track (assuming they don't forecast Saturday as nice and Sunday as rain), is anyone else?

I am going on the trackday, a CPA one. (On Sunday). I will also be paying Ted and Richard a visit to say hi.

Plus I'll be giving Den a leg up when he scales the perimeter fence.

If all is well, Littlegearl and myself will be going on the saturday. Neither of us own a kitcar, bit of a pipedream at the moment, but there's no harm in having a look around at some nice cars

Is the track action both days?

I'm seriously looking to buy in the next few months and want to get as many rides as possible to try and make my decision easier.

I'll probably be there on the Sunday, but not in a kit (I'm still trying to put it back together!).

Well, Saturday has come, and myself and Littlegearl haven't gone to donington......

Because we're going tomorrow instead - a very good friend of mine from school is the demo driver on the Fisher Fury stand (his car is the fury demo car for the weekend), and has offered us a spin round the track on the Sunday if it isn't too busy...bit of a no-brainer there!

Was a cool day yesterday - lots and lots of nice cars to ogle at - including that looovely GT40 replica in the hall

Didn't get a ride round the track though, my mate had a queue of paying customers, so it would have been a little out of order to give me a spin round the track - oh well, another time.

BTW, my mates car was the dark blue, '03 registered Fisher Fury, with the thin dark grey viper stripes down the bonnet, and the 2 litre Vauxhall XE lump - if anyone saw it

Did a few sessions on track. The morning sessions were very scary with numpties who shouldnt be allowed to go on the road let alone a track in particular a couple of hatchbacks. Afternoon was better despite the red flags due to various excursions to the gravel traps.

Weather was fantastic as was the track. I will be back

If it was a red Seat Cupra R and yellow Fiat Stilo Abarth, they were part of my trackday group. The standard of driving would vary greatly because there were some people driving who hadn't been to a trackday before, but they were under instruction all the time. They would also have been driven brilliantly half the time because the instructors were at the wheel

It is fair to point out that none of the hot hatch drivers caused any stoppages, unlike the many, many other trackday drivers who managed to spin out or drive in an abysmal manner. Some of the worst driving I have ever encountered on a trackday, bad manners, dangerous moves, cars dumping oil etc.

I should point out that I rarely came across one of our group's hatches on a lap, so if they were driving badly I may not have seen them. Or it could have been me driving badly

But who was in the Yellow Roadster that went pop going through Swantz Curve, up to McLeans? (morning session)

I think about 3 engines grenaded on track throughout the day. Not the best advertising for the kit car market, but as only kit car enthusiasts were there it didn't really matter

I am still a bit embarrassed about moving over for a GTM on the main straight as I thought it was a yellow TVR Cerbera with Zertec lights. Wondered why he didn't blast past like I was expecting

I think one of the potential problems was that anyone could pay £25 for 20 minutes on track.

At least if someone's paying over a hundred quid they're likely to be a bit more committed than someone who's spent less than they spent in the pub the night before.

was there a for a couple of hours and thought it was a good show...

some track driving was appaling... almost saw an accident between a RX-7 and a kit car as the kit car seemed to wave him past then swerve over and block him... RX-7 man was well sideways under braking!!!

the highlights of the track action was the guy CAINING his (i presume) ex-police Omega V6 round in the morning session so hard when it came it it fooking stank and was smoking and steaming...

and me mate Dave in his blue '03-plate Fisher Fury getting out of his car (after being on the track for about 3 hours) going "this is so much fun"... he was one of the fastest out there too...

...now got to save up for my OWN kit car...

We found that Omega amusing too.... there were regular chuckles from people around us when it came down the start/finish straight...... the other car that raised a few smiles too was the three-wheeled kit that was plodding around at about a quarter of the speed of everything else!

Saw the engine go in the yellow roadster..... saw it back in the lane behind the pit lane (at the kit car show entrance) afterwards..... the driver reckoned a valve had gone..... and also told everyone that the car was booked in for it's SVA next Friday!

almost forgot about that 3-wheeled thing!!!

other highlights was that gorgeous RS500 Cossie AND Cossie Transit van (with TVR alloys) they had as a "support" vehicle in the paddock

I was a bit concerned about the Cosworth, because at one point it seemed to be chucking out a lot of white/blue smoke......

It may have been overfuelling and it was black smoke? I saw it at Redgate but couldn't tell. They run the cossies very rich to prevent detonation.

Or it could have been oil being burnt (blue smoke) as they do seem to burn oil in my experience.
