They really do think it needs a more mature name IMHO! I just can't imagine going to Mrs Kitcarman saying "I'm thinking of a sexi, dear "
Better than saying it looks like the back end of an Elise
Many thanks for the email.

How about a new thread "nice car dodgy name" see how many we can think of
Always thought the top of the range old shape Granada's were a bit of a joke.... if they added any more letters to the name, they would have had to have made the bootlid wider to fit them all on!
I mean...
Granada 2.9i Ghia X 4x4
And I'm sure I one saw one that had the word Scorpio in the title as well.....
Right,
I've finished ready my free copt of Kit Car and to be honest I liked it. Perhaps this is coloured by the fact it had great articles on E-types and a stunning Lambo replica.
I would say I generally liked the style and found the mag to be of a reasonably high standard.
Now if I were to comparision it with Which Kit, hmmm....
To be honest, both mags may be both produced for the same industry and target audience but I feel they infact give a reader quite different perspectives on sometimes similar subject. This is nothing but good news, the aim should be balanced and informed readers.
Also you have to bear in mind "You should never believe everything you read."
From this point I should add that a subscription will be coming your way KCM, keep up the good work.
On the down side, the pot shots at WC do you no favours. As a first time reader I might have missed it, but due to being a member of this forum, I saw it for what it was. Printing at the back went a bit funny in places, but this has already been commented on.
In short, a good read and I'm looking forward to future issues.
Lastly, thanks for being good to your word and sending out a FREE sample, this speaks volumes about you commitment to you product and potential customer base.
Kind Regards
Chris
P.S. Any chance of a few lines to help me locate the phantom Carisma Century Owners / Ownersclub? ;-)

Thanks Corax,
What you’ve said pretty much reflects all previous posts, and indeed those that have been submitted off-forum.
It looks like my offer of a free issue did pretty much as was intended. I didn’t believe Kit Car was Which Kit’s poor relation and I believe that you and all the members of this forum have confirmed this. I take your point that the two magazines do indeed offer different perspectives and agree that that’s no bad thing.
I’ve noted that there are areas requiring attention and can assure you that such is being done. You’ve probably seen the Proof Readers Required thread, which isn’t so much aimed at getting that work done for free, but to show that the matter is being addressed. The fuzzy ads are in the same category, in that they were printed because they slipped through the proof checking procedure.
The only fly in the ointment, that I can see, concerns the Which Kit? attacks. I’m pleased to see that the allegation that they were ‘pathetic’ and ‘childish’ have all but evaporated. However, some still feel that they were lacking professionalism. I’m left in a quandary in that I feel it’s right to continue to point out that Kit Car is much bigger both physically and in terms of circulation because, as I’ve said, this brings me advertising revenue. So, I’m going to continue to point to such matters, but in factual, lees emotive terms.
What I should say in respect to the practices and ‘fingers in pies’ of my rival is far more difficult to resolve. I’m considering another DPS like p104/105 but with those matters like AF Sports and the Cobra book removed (because they’ve been resolved) and replaced with other matters concerning which I still feel aggrieved (like the use of Kit Car Ltd and being excluded from shows). I’d appreciate your collective thoughts on this.
Finally on this thorny topic, I’ve a number of letters and stories giving first hand accounts as to how people have suffered. I take it that my allowing such folk to have their stories told is in order?
Having disposed of the above ‘thorny’ points, I’d be very happy to discuss ideas for widening the magazines appeal and generally using it to increase the awareness of kit cars. You’ll recall my first post on the Kit Car Magazine is Crap? thread? I said Kit Car magazine was held it in low esteem. I believe there are infinitely more people who are aware of kit cars but hold them in low esteem. Any ideas as to how I might employ Kit Car magazine to change that perception?
Den.

Well how about enclosing a FREE copy of Kit car inside every copy of the Daily Mirror, Express and Sun! (Should only cost you around £15,000,000 and think of the exposure!!!)
Yawn,
Sounds like there are 2 more magazines about to follow CCC!
Like CCC, you guys are intent on filling your magazines with political waffle & adverts which have no interest to readers. I've not bought a kit car mag for a long time because of this.
Sort yourselves out and don't air your dirty laundry in public please!

Actually your advice pretty much agrees with everybody on this forum , including myself.
This debate has dealt with a certain amount of history, some of which isn't pleasent but now that the air is clearer, we’re now moving onto discussing methods of improving the magazines and promoting the kit car industry.
Rather than prophesying doom, can you help us in our quest?
Den
I thought CCC had ended because it had got crap and just not selling? I've been a CCC subscriber for almost 10 years and used to look forward to receiving it, but now? couldn't care less to loose the magazine it has recently become. Rather than turn to it's roots within club level motorsport and ingenious tuners / builders in their sheds to improve itself, they simply tried to entice readers from revs and max power with the same "I've put a bodykit and chip on my fiesta", it just seemed more highbrow and technical as it had less naked women.
I openly told Den that what he was doing with the negative articles wasn't going to please everyone (that thread is finished, please lets not start it again). Personally I think that this is a new dawn for kitcar, not a new end, unlike CCC Den has turned to his readers and potential audience and asked what do you want to see, and not just trudged down an easy route laid down by other magazines. How windy can compare CCC's demise with WK and KC current situations is beyond me. CCC is gone, KC is still here and looking ahead to the future..it's future, not one set out by its rivals or predecessors, but one set out by it's readers. Do you like what you are seeing, if not, what do you want to see?
Oh dear, it's half midnight and I'm ranting away...Den, I blame you, you are clearly a bad influence.

You drive the readers away by printing rubbish then you'll follow CCC. No readers = no revenue! Also if I was a company advertising within your pages I'd be having words with your publishers to withdraw my company from your publications following the tat you've printed. No advertisers = no revenue.
It'll be interesting to see how a magazine survives without readers & advertisers.

Question for windy1.
How long is a long time?

About 9 months ago I paid for a kit car magazine to see what was about before going to Stoneleigh. Since then I've occasionally gone to WH Smiths to have a look / quick read, seen that there's not much new being talked about, then put them back on the shelf.
