I’ve an ulterior motive in that I don’t want the Kit Car feedback thread filled with really naff names (except possibly that of a certain rival ).

So I’m putting forward the VolksWagan……….

………….BORA

They must have thought for ages to come up with that.

It just makes me think of .

Doh, maybe Maseratti not Lamborghini.

I used to work for the Daewoo Technical Centre, the wonder brains in Korea came up with the Nubira Estate which they wanted to call the Spagon which alleged was short for Space and Wagon...........

I reckon coming up with a name is really hard. In fact I’m considering setting up in business again. Anyone got ideas for a business name?

Initially, I’m thinking of selling parts of the type I used to sell under the Pilgrim name. I’ve still got all my old contacts, certain tooling and the desire to get back into the cut’n’thrust of doing deals. Publishing is OK, but it isn’t my primary calling.

Bugatti Juan Sebastian Veyron. First car to be named after a footballer apart from the Hillman (Norman) Hunter.

Oh yes, and Den probably borrowed the nickname of portly Icelandic striker Mixu (Sumo) Paataleinen for his Cobra rep.

Can't see why you would want to start up again Den, with all the pitfalls and aggro that would go with it.

You have a good little earner with KC, and you are hardly a spring chicken..(but you are still younger than me )so why not take things easy before you are put out to pasture?

Supersixfan, I’m hurt

No spring chicken hey!

Put me out to pasture, would you?

Alright then, let me put it differently. If I were a much younger man who was thinking of setting up a business selling Cobra parts. Have you any suggestions for a name for such a business?

Den.

Aww! Den, you know I was only joking

I reckon you have a couple of good years left in you yet

How about Tanden motor company Ltd? (all the best ideas are the simplest ones)

You never know, you could go into partnership with Fibly!!!

You noticed I was smiling when I said that - I hope.

I like Tanden motor company Ltd.
I not like in partnership

Reminds me of my first partnership with Bill Harling. We seriously considered the name Bilden Cars before Pilgrim came up.

As much as I like Tanden, I’d like to hear any other suggestions.

Den.

Is it true that the Mitsubishi Starion should have been the Stallion but for the oriental pronounciation of the name ?

If we're talking naff kit-car names it has to be the Marlin 5exi.

Bloody awful.

Hey Den. How about, as a follow on to Pilgrim, Progress?

Geddit?

Like it! Progress Parts, Progress Components. It’s got a ring, but I’m not quite sure.

I was thinking of 'Pilgrims Progress', bit too literary maybe.

And what are you doing up at 1 o'clock in the morning anyway?

I can’t use the name Pilgrim because I sold it.

In respect to your question, I’ll tell you if you tell me.

Absolutely - I actually quite fancy building one of them but the name is putting me off!
