Tell the missus you're on the national minimum wage, that webers are the cheapest carbs available because they're so big and heavy, and yokohamas A032s are cheaper because they don't have to cut the tread in them! Works every time

Actually, yes.

A few years back I was funding the conversion of my qualifications to UK spec (obtained overseas) and I gave it a try.

The first was a test of devices used for administering flu innoculations to oap's. These ranged from a simple dropper to a syringe which had had the end blocked and tiny holes drilled around the sides. The idea was to stop the juice going down the back of the throat and instead spray it around the inside of the nose where it could be absorbed via the membranes. I earned about £600 on that one for two days 'work'.

The second one turned out to be for Viagra I arrived at the hospital thinking we were doing some heart drug only to be told plans had changed. Things that put me off were the fact that the rather attractive nurse would not be collecting samples and the fact that there would be eight of us to a ward (no soggy biscuit gags please).

The last straw came when I read the notes headed "What Can Go Wrong". Apparently the swelling can remain for up to twelve hours. Twelve hours!!! As I pointed out at the time, I sleep on my front and would keep falling out of bed.

Chickened out, gave blood instead and got paid £60 which wasn't quite the £1300 offered for the Viagra trial.

I made a fortune on the sale of our house... bought a tiny one in the country (2 bed)... got massive quotes on the 110% extension we needed (5 bed as I have 4 children)

Then it was just a matter of doing the extension myself and spending the balance of what I supposedly saved on an Ultima

It's a sneaky way of putting the car on the Morgage however after having the car on the road a year and the extension still not finished (but we are living in it) the wife is get a little suspicious............ solution..... I've sent her out to work for the first time in 9yrs
