Morning Fuoriserie. Very interesting project that one and on the face of it, this could be a really worthwhile project!

However the 125 engine strikes me as not entirely adequte particularly two up!

From memory the old Sachs 200cc two stroke engine fitted originally and with the dynastart fitted had four reverse speeds and for forward gears as was was a more realistic outfit?

Still very worthwhile seeing the opportunity, which looks pretty chipper to me.

Sadly I am totally snowed under with excessive kit cars and classics otherwise........??? Who knows?
Hi Steffan,

Modern 125cc scooter engine have from 9 to 11.5 Hp and are very close to the originals in that respect....in todays traffic and power crazy, you would need at least a 250-300cc engine with 22-25hp to have a fast cabin scooter 3wheeler.

With the single seater Tercyclo, we had a 160cc engine with 15hp and was fast enough to reach 100km/h, more than the required limit 85Km/h for a Heavy Quadricycles in Italy and the EU.

You can find some great 400cc scooter engines( see Suzuki Burgman, Honda Silverwing, Yamaha XMax) with 33-39Hp and would make a cabin scooter faster than we might think...

Has anyone apart from Italo come up with anything?
In the kitcar industry other than the Eco-exo, sadly noone ....but a few new ideas are in the works....

This Isetta homage still doesn't really sort the commuting congestion problem that what I call a cabin scooter would. Maximum width 1m Maximum length 2.5m. Most of the stuff so far is either too wide to lane split, too long to park end on to the kerb or too open to stay dry in.

What happened to all those projects and ideas from March 2009?
We built two running prototypes and you can see the video of the Tercyclo with the 160cc scooter engine ( we never showed the 50cc version....)

I'm currently working on something along the lines of your brief....
