Car is still advertised and until I get a job it will be up for sale - COME ON JOB!!!
I have to say from experience that the car will be dirty A LOT. The bonnet stays clean but the sides under the doors seem to suck mud off the road!
I think a flip paint scheme could work really well with the Murt - perhaps the green/black one like TVR? I think that would be very cool given the shape of the car. Mine is Stormy Mica Blue from Mazda but even that changes colour depending on angle and lighting which I really like whereas on the MX5 it does not seem to do that so much.
Next thing for me (if I can get some £) will be new pedals and sort out a timing strut for sprinting which will start soon!!

Hi Mike
Seems every one is advising against the mat look. I have considered black like yours and may very well end up with that. I liked the pics of your car in your drive. looks good with the mesh removed from the front to show that shiny FMI. How is your car coming on, have you sorted the problem with the box?

As you can imagine, the progress has been slow over the holidays...However, Will and I are getting things sorted and are planning on swapping a different USDM 6-speed into the car that should get it running...Not in a big hurry right now, as even if my car was finished, I'd have to drive it a few thousand miles home through snow/blizzard conditions...Just don't tell Will that I'm content with waiting. Seriously thought, things are finally looking a bit brighter again after a long pause.......
Won't be long now!

There was a none-too-friendly piece about AMS in the most recent Kit Car Magazine.

I havent seen either of the articles.I will go and buy the mag this afternoon. Not too bad I hope.
I must say though, Neil has been helping me of late in sourcing parts and has promised to help with my IVA. He has already come through on some. He is working on the new dash inlay for me as well. So he is still trying to help.
My car has been primed ready for paint.

Problem with matt finishes is trying to keep them consistent. The surface is open on a microscopic level, and that allows dirt etc to enter, and it's difficult to get it out again whilst keeping the result the same all over. A coat of wax will help reduce the problem but it won't cure it, and in any case tends to make the surface less matt/more shiny.
Just leave it primer grey
Matt black will look awesome so I wouldn't worry about it - there were a few at Autosport and they really did look good.
Mine is now the Gulf one and I'm undecided to keep it that colour or change it?????
Seems like the colour choice is the hardest choice of all of them
