It's difficult to tell for sure, but the front wings look like they might fail IVA, inasmuch as the outside parst looks like they are less than 30 degrees of coverage from the top centreline.
nerd
have you ever taken an IVA test? rolleyes

All the builder needs to do is to check the manual, check the wings, and if necessary move them forward a bit. No point in going in with a definite fail point.
Easy with the rolleyes, Mate!
Surely anyone coming up with precise details of regulations like that is going to risk a friendly 'nerd' smiley?? smile

No, I wouldn't have thought so. That's exactly how the test works, if the car fits the precise letter on the IVA manual 'law' then it passes, if it doesn't, it won't. If you want to call people nerds for pointing out that kind of detail then you just don't understand how the test works.

I don't know what you do for a living, but there may well be parallels in your line of work. This is the kind of thing I deal with every day.

I think Jcartie has them wrong, As my old Birkin was a factory built one with the angled edge on the top of the tyre. smile

Yep, the cut away edge should be on top. Probably doesn't matter tbh.

Apologies for lack of updates. Electrics are happening ATM. Once something interesting happens I'll do a proper update.

Bit of an update....first proper progress since my Dad decided to do some decorating instead.

Throttle bodies are actually properly fitted now as is the cooling pipework etc.

Pic below shows bonnet just dropped in place. After the air filter goes on throttle bodies we are hoping to be able to mesh over the hole. Keep it looking tidy. Most have air filter protruding but my dad din't want that.

Fuel pressure regulator also fitted now....

Its coming along.....cannot wait to drive this. Think its going to be a bit of a weapon!!

Have Birkin now got a tranverse top mount thingy for the front suspension? Don't remember the tops of the shocks being on mount like that.

(edit) Looked back at the earlier pics you posted of the front end. Missed the top mounts then. I like the reason (Gives a better operating angle with les 'falling rate') but looks 'orrid with those big bits outside the body. Ho-hum..still like the Birkin though!

And I see you have solar PV. thumbup

Nothing major. Lights have gone on. I'm not going to be down there for a while but my dad is doing electrics next. He's been putting it off I think!!

Just wondered if you have any information about the current state of Birkin SA ...are they still up and running? I can't seem to get through to anyone. I'm a bit concerned as I have recently bought a part built Birkin S3 from RS
