I've never felt the need to go to the wider tyres TBH. I run 185x60 13's (Yoke A539's) for the road and airfields. It's a bit lively admittedly but that's how I like it. On track I use 185x50 13' Avon ACB10 crossplys which bring all the grip you'll ever need (they're near as damnit slicks) yet they don't spoil the poise of the car and it remains incredibly progressive.

I suppose it depends on what you like though I would have thought that 7's on the front is a tad excessive but I've seen plenty of Caterhams that run 7's on the back (SLR's and beyond have them as standard). Unless you're hillclimbing of course, now those guys fit wiiiiiiide wheels.

Are you the same guy i met at the yorkshire westfield club meet last month who had lunched his engine and was talking to Paul A. I was the one in the red 2.0 VX with the big noisy exhaust, hope Paul gets your car fixed soon !! and will see ya at the next meet

It was indeed!

Paul is putting the engine back together as I type. Expect to see me plodding along to the next meet in a desperate attempt to run it in before the next trackday a few days later!

Nice to see you.
