If you put the registration number into the Vehicle enquiry website

That 'Date of last V5C (logbook) issued 17 May 2013' is the only light at the end of the tunnel.

Let's hope it's in a barn! And there is hope with it being a Berkeley - these cars are quite difficult to scrap being fibreglass. Also, anyone with one must know they are rare. However, it could have been broken up for parts.

All the details you found are correct though. It started life with a 328cc Excelsior bike engine but the Berkerley Enthusiasts Club did inform me it was modified for racing and the 1100 engine is very likely to have come from a Mini.

Indeed! This is a surprise. I'm wondering if someone has bought it back in 2013 for a restoration project?

Not sure what else I can do except hope someone blogs about it and I can find it on an internet search. Hopefully they might even be on Pistonheads and and find this thread!

Saw one today first for me.
Not sure why it comes up as a Berkeley Replica.

I've never seen one with any form of hardtop before - that looks well made and finished; might be a bit cramped inside.

I had two 4-wheel Berkeleys back in about1972-73, a B65 and a B95. There was a Berkeley Enthusiasts Club with a few members around south London; at least one of them had a mini engine in with a huge and ugly bump in the bonnet to fit. I remember a couple of us buying up a batch of nos gearboxes for the T60/B65. I wonder what happened to them !

The date of first registration being 1989 and the very professional looking wheel arch extensions might be a clue. The mileage only increased by a few miles each year for many years, at around 88,000 miles, but the last MOT shows a severe haircut at 35,000!

Web site I use says year of manufacture 1960, then Registration date 1989, and V5C issued in 2022.

Why I have no idea. Can’t see it being bought and kept for 29 years before being registered, one of life’s little mysteries.

Wonder how it lost 52,819 miles between 2015 and 2016.

Looks like an import, so just registered when it came here. Running a 1275cc engine, new keeper in 2022.

I wonder if it was registered in 1989 using the ID of an older car? I've seen Ford GT40 replicas with similar discrepancies.

The mileage changed from 88,000ish to 66,000ish at one MOT but that was almost certainly misread as the last 3 digits fitted in perfectly with the previous and following tests.

The last one is a little suspect. Maybe a repacement s/h speedo fitted? I'd hope that the MOT throws up an error message if the mileage is lower than the previous test.

Interesting you will have to explain that, don’t quite understand that, maybe I am missing something.

The mileage on 18/05/2007 should have read 86496

Like Penny Whistle says; the mileage simply misread by the examiner- 66,496 fits in nicely with the tests either side.
