This year we are organising a TVRCC gathering at the Oulton Park Gold Cup meeting, Bank holiday weekend 29/30th August.
Last year there was a large gathering of TVR's mainly classics but we also had most other models including the Speed 12.
This is a fantastic weekend of historic motor racing, different grids on both days so its not practice one day racing the next. Historic Sports Car club and the Historic Grand Prix Cars association will both be running races and the highlight for many will be Stirling Moss reunited with his old Maserati 250F in the pre 1960 Grand Prix race.
No pit stops, no laptops, just racing.
Too many people complain that there are no events organised for older TVR's so get the polish out and be there.
Please note this is SUNDAY and MONDAY!!!!!!!

Advanced weekend tickets are £20 for both days or £15 per day on the gate, good value either way. Tel 0870 950 9000 to pre book.
Hope to see you there sTeVeR

I can see no reason why you cant camp at Oulton, I have in the past and I am sure if any of the racing people wanted to camp they could but it may be worth checking with the organisers. I don't know what the new owners policy is.

For the first time in 5 years, I can't go this year. (getting married on the Sat)

Just thought I'd promote this event as a certain 'DONT MISS IT'.

One of the best weekends of motorsport you can watch in the UK.

Good luck with the gathering Steve!

Jon congratulations on the wedding but Gold Cup is sunday and monday. Nice place for a honeymoon and a good start to married life.
It is a fantastic event , possibly Goodwood Revival the weekend after is arguably better but expensive!

I'll be there on the Monday (with the Griff) and the other half.

Can vouch for the good racing, always excellent.
Unlike some meets you can see a lot of the cars close up too.
Good turn out of various cars on the stands too.

Hi Steve.

I will try to attend with the pink Vixen, but having some engine set up issues at the moment, so not sure If I can make it in the TVR. Will be there though.

I haven't attended a local meeting yet, so its time I put in an appearance. my old man is also trying to get a ticket on the series 1 Vixen (Ian Kerrs old car)
Hopefully the testers wont notice the outrigger rot if some fresh fibreglass is applied over the top. Hoping to get the rest of the summer in driving her before full body off re-build.

Where abouts are you congregating at Oulton?

Neil Russell.

I know. Its been suggested that this be our first married day out.

My suggestion was greeted with a look of 'Are you serious?' so I left it there.

The soon to be 'Mrs' is no petrol head and I fear divorce by Tuesday if I go on my own for this one!

This is a one off that I may just have to leave out!

There will be a TVR parking area but I cant remember if its where we chose or where we are put. Last year we were on the hill ovelooking the Avenue, Hilltop and Knikerbrook. If I have anymore info I will let you know.

If they wont let you camp on site, there is a camp site on the A54 about 100yds from the turning off the road into the lane to Oulton (about 2miles on the Chester side of Winsford)

Dont know if thats any help?

Just checked with Oulton Park and yes there is a camp site,on left immediately over the bridge. £10 per person for the weekend. At this exact moment a canal boat would be more appropriate but weather is going to be fantastic for the weekend

Have Booked 2 tickets for the weekend with me and old fella. Vixen is being looked at at SFR. Shane has assured me it will be sorted for the saturday, so should turn up in the vixen.

Steve. You can have a crawl over it and tell me how good or bad it is.

Neil.

I'll be going on Sunday but I dont have a Trevor.

Silly question, how noisy is it?

I haven't been to a classic race before and I am probably going to be bringing my 7 month old daughter (start 'em young I say). Is it going to frighten her to death?

BTW good luck on Saturday Lazyitus.
