Lads!
Anybody got any decent info on installing a supercharger under the bonnet of an 'M'
I've been mulling over this for a couple of months now, there must be a system you can squeeze in some how for reasonable money!
Post your thoughts.........

I did see the car and anything that is not usable is available......as you know I have all the spare parts on the shelf..........It would be easier to buy a running one.

Supaspark,

There's a guy not far from you (I see you're in Nottingham) who runs an essex engine in his car pushing out about 300bhp with his supercharger. OK, its in a scimitar but that shouldn't be a problem.

He's a small motor engineer with extensive experience of essex engines, superchargers etc... so let me know and I'll dig his name and number out.

Cheers

Rob

looking at the E-bay picture i reckon your going to have to seriously modify the bonnet. the side draught weber/dellortos will be picking up hot air from the exhaust manifolds - not good. Is there an option for an intercooler? I remember the pains i went to ensuring that the fuel injection and new cast plenum chamber on my turbo fitted under the bonnet with no modifications. Its tight under there especially with the heat. Go turbo i say! Superchargers tend to use more power from the engine and are less flexible for future improvements compared with the more adaptable turbo's. Saying that i do agree with you to try and move off in a different direction - just for the hell of it !!

You SHOULD get that blower for the Essex and do it - So you have a big bulge on the bonnet, if it fits under a Capri bonnet should be ok) the original is a downdraft carb so doubtfull if would be much higher than std - WICKED, and the scream it will make as well.
