Fuel Filler Pipe Leaking
Discussion
Hi
I have a Taimar Turbo. A year or so ago I had new fuel tank and fuel filler pipe fitted, however they have now started leaking at the tank end of the joint.
I was wondering if anyone had come up with a more elegant solution rather than the push a bit of fuel pipe over the tank inlet and seal with a jubilee clip?
Also to compound the issue both the fuel gauges and temperature gauges have decided to stop working, and I can't find my wiring diagram...any ideas where is the best place to start looking.
Thanks for your help

I can't help with the fuel tank problem apart from the fact that I've never had a problem with mine, but mine are on a Vixen and 3000S.
The best place to start looking for the fuel and temp gauge problem is the voltage regulator which is usually clipped to the back of the dash, on my 3000S it's on the far right hand side. The most likely cause is that it is not being earthed proplerly so check this first by running a whire directly to the negative side of the battery and earthing the case. If this still doesn't work you will need a new regulator but it's most likely to be an earth problem.

re: fuel filler pipe
I would ensure the following, the fuel filler hose is located as far down onto the tank inlet as it can go, the I would put a sencond jubilee type clip on. It is possible that your inlet pipe into the tank isn't circular anymore (small crease from previously overlightened clip?). I used to double clip fuel lines wherever possible to be on the safe side.
Failing that I would get a new hose fitted by someone like Adrian Venn who will have definitely the correct size hose.
Hope that helps
