fitting the superflex bushes
Discussion
I'm changing the bushes of my Grantura Mk 2A.
I ordered the superflex bushes from David Gerald. These bushes have no steel sleeves as the original Rover rubber bushes still on the car!
Do I have to take the old steel sleeves from the original bushes when fitting the new superflex parts? Or do you leave them out and use only the bushes without steel sleeves?

The set I've got came with stainless steel crush tubes, as per the Superflex site www.racecar.co.uk/superflex/contents.html
Don't know if it is correct or not, I used the old steel centres out of the old bushes when I fitted mine. Mainly because it also told me what size to cut them off. You will find a vast improvement when you fit them, the car will be slightly stiffer, and goes were you point it. Make sure you use the grease provided as it helps bed down the new bushes.

I would reccomend that you should fit stainles steel inserts to them as without you will rapidly destroy the new bushes (are the pivot bolts slack in the new bushes ? if so then inserts must be necessary). What sort of grease has been supplied and where do you apply it ? as I did not receive any with mine.
Both packages included a small bag of "superflex polyurethane assembly lubricant". The fitting instructions say "lightly coat bush contact surface with assembly lubricant prior to fitment" and "Insert the stainless steel sleeves (where applicable) after the bushes are installed into their housing". (I think the bushes for Grantura Mk 2 and Mk 3 are different)
So I will take the old sleeves used with the original rover parts and use the lubricant to all contact surfaces.
