Adrian,
Surely the man was bang on the money.
The standard frames do rot and getting another Jensen Healey frame probably will be a nightmare.

Someone being smart enough to identify the above and then remanufacturing them to a higher spec is quite another thing.

Thats the trouble with t'internet. it is all too easy to misinterperate.

Morning John......A very valid point...I did spend 101 hours making a jig so that the new glass (which now when purchased is a different shape than original) fits the frame so that glass no longer cracks as soon as you drive it down the road.....back to the original question...3000S-good or bad, I know I own a 3000S and a 3000S Turbo, make sure the screen frame has been replaced in the last year because when the screen cracks the new one does not fit into the original frame.
Adrian

I want to turn my car into a "Monster truck type thingy!"
Please don't misinterperate this as a serious venture I'm just having a laugh!
The car's handling mint and the brakes are awesome!
Thanks, Glyn.

Good to hear that somebody is actually making the window frames for the 3000s, DG told me that the jigs had gone on the missing list.

With regard to the offset pedals, it was an issue to me and had a couple of dodgy moments when my feet slipped off the pedals because of the angle of my feet but obviously not all people see this as a problem.

Anyway I stayed with the marque and got an S3, which I find a bit more comfortable.

As with all things TVR you can have standard or non-standard items and this so with pedal boxes, there are 4, early standard and long and then late standard and long, the later pedal box is far better, has nicer feel and operation, it has the heart shaped pedal rubbers and in the engine bay the clutch cable cover has a metal support coming from under it, in the long form, with the wider pedal it is perfect for me.

As for the MONSTER TRUCK THINGY-MA-JIG Glyn you're almost there with yor car being JCB yellow.....
