I don't think you need any. It's not a ragtop. No polish or silicones.
On my car i'm using hood fabric "Everflex" from Martrim which was stuck on car roofs in the 70's.
£18 per metre and it's 140cms wide. For a 3000M you need about 31/2 metres and that includes enough to do the Weather Shield so everything is a perfect match. The cover for the sliding outside part is very easy to make.
You can do the whole roof for about £70 + delivery if you have an old Singer Sewing machine + the Glue of course.
The seams on the roof are very simple and you can make them tastier by doing flat fell seams.

Sonnylad,
are you going to replace the Vinyl stuck to the roof also.
Mine is ready to glue to the roof but i'm a little frightened if i can work with the contact glue.
I have said if i fail i will get the roof painted but i don't like defeat.
Anyone with gluing tips welcome.

Mine is already fitted as can be seen in this post:

I just wondered if weather / waterproofing was worthwile to hopefully protect and prolong it's life.

I have been having a few problems with the old Singer sowing machine and feeding the Everflex through when 3 thicknesses.
So i have bought a "Walking Foot" attachement for it to feed the Everflex top and bottom.
The original seams on the roof are very simple and doesn't look very chick. If the seams are done like a "Flat Fell" seam with 2 sewed lines on each seam it will look much better. Also the seam will glue down flatter.
I have been using "V69" polyester thread which is very strong and UV resistant + n° 100 needle.

A photo of the rear fixing bar/plate i made from alloy sheet + 4 "Rivnuts". You remove part of the old plate with the channel(drill out spot welds) for the interior curtain to slide into and rivet to this.

Hi - I’m in the process of trying to fit one of these to my MGB GT but have a couple of items missing.

The item numbers are 3 (hook finisher) and 16 (front trim finisher)

Is there any chance that you could post a couple of pictures of these along with some dimensions so I can have a go at making them.

I’ve given up hope of trying to locate some second hand spares……
