Good Afternoon All,

In desperate need of some help with the light switches in my 1996 Chimaera. I took the radio panel off this afternoon to try and diagnose why my fog lights have never worked, and unfortunately most of the cables to the switches have come off!! I am now in a position where I have no lights and no idea what cable goes to which terminal on the switch. I have managed to find some images online showing connections but the previous owner had fitted upgraded switches, if my research is correct they are from CBS, Billet switches?!? They each have a relay box on the back with 6 terminals then a further two terminals coming from the switch itself (Assuming this is for the switch LED?) I've listed the cables I have and if anyone can point me in the right direction as to how to re-wire I will be supremly grateful!

Solid Red - Looped into 2 connections
Red and White - looped into 3 connections (2nd red and white cable not connected to the main loom but goes to a switch under the dash looped into two connections)
Blue and Red - Looped into 3 connections
Yellow and Red - Single connection (Shorter length of Yellow and Red connected to fog light LED but not connected at the other end)
Blue - Single Connection
Blue and White - Single connection
Black - Looped into 3 connections

The 6mm spade connectors have been swapped out for 3mm on everything but the 4 warning lights, which are still working. Have tried to look for power with a multimeter but can't seem to find a live, wondering if theres a fuse blown also! But I'll be honest and admit I'm rubbish with car electrics! Although i do now know why the fog lights don't work....there is no relay on that switch so guessing it wasn't ever connected!!

I don’t think there relays on the back it’s the switch mechanism
Terminals 1-2-3 are or I think are common N/O and N/C and there are 2 sets per switch
The 2 center ones different colour I think are the switch elimination

If I remember correctly the red and white wire are the unswiched supply

But it’s been along time since I was behind that panel

Your switch has two connection paths so you need to find if they switch together or one after the other. i.e. is the switch one or two position.

Can't say for sure that these colours are correct on your car but these are wiring convention.
Red will likely be +12V
Red/White side lights + illum in switch + wire to switch under dash which is so you can switch the instrument lights on/off.
Black will be earth so on that switch will just be to earth the illumination in the switch.
Blue/Red is dip beam.
Blue/White is main beam + main beam warning
Blue will likely be supply to fog switch.

Guys, thank you so much for the help! I have now managed to get the lights working again, simple when you know how. Just need to work out why the main beam doesn’t work from the stalk, assuming somethings connected up wrong somewhere but a huge leap forward from yesterday!

Thanks again
