HEATED REAR SCREEN

I have a 3000M with a heated rear screen.
Do any of you boys use the heated rear screen on your car or is it just for show.
Do they draw a lot of current and have you got it wired in with a fused relay.
Would it be better to wire in a timer so it switches off after a few minutes.
Is it a good thing or just a gadget.

Not had a heated rear screen in my 1600M for nearly 40 years! Find the rear screen stays clear inside and out at anything over 40mph, usually drive with drivers window cracked open except in really heavy rain. Geoff
