3000M gone for repaint

After removing door handles, bumpers, lights and other trim i took my 3000M to a Garage for a respray.
I've decided to stay with the original colour which is "PEUGEOT ONYX BRUN 1359" which was used by Peugeot from 1972 to 1975.
I hope the result is good.
I have new Vinyl to glue on the roof ready and a new Weathershield Cover.
Plus new Seals for the front and back Screens.
Paint first then then Vinyl and new assymetric Seals.
The Garage have already done some Corvettes so are used to grp/polyester.

My advice would be to trial fit the screens before painting.

they are the original screens so i think there will be no problem.
If it was with a new screen which can differ in size it's a different kettle of fish.
The original screens have been fitted to the car for many years and now the seals need replacing

Its the rubber seals that can be different (very different), a couple of extra mm on each side of the rubber seal (remember it is doubled as the screen has opposite sides) can make the screen not fit cleanly.
I suggest you take Johns (TVRMs) advice, the additional effort and cost of trial fitting the glass will pay dividends. A decent repaint is an expensive exercise, don't cut corners!!!!

When i had a 1600M i fitted the rear and front screens alone my self.
They were both the new assymetric seals from David Gerald.
As you say they are a very tight fit and not easy to fit correctly.
The back screen was the original glass screen and i was very frightened not to break it.
The front screen was a new heated one from "Uroglas" lamenated and very nice job.
I fitted both seals to body first then fitted the glass.
When i had a 1600M i fitted the rear and front screens alone my self.

I'm pleased about that because i just went to look at the Bonnet to see the finish after the "Aerogommage" at Caudan Morbihan 56 chez "US Cleaner". There looks like there was no Gelcoat. The "Aerogommage " is a good way to remove the paint in the difficult mouldings and corners.
The Opérateur is trying different ways so there is the best finish for the Paint Job.

An update,
popped by the spray shop again and things are coming along very nicely.
She's coated in "Polyester Spray Filler" and they're just giving her a nice rub down. She certainly seems to be enjoying it ha ha ha ha.
I said to them at the start that i was'nt in a hurry and they seem to have taken me to my word.
Well i imagine she will be back home within the next 2 weeks.
Good job i have also my 3000S to drive and it's still sunny.

For a really good paint job time is your best friend if they leave several weeks between stages it well worth it.popped by the spray shop again and things are coming along very nicely.

Especially where glass repairs are concerned as i have seen rushed insurance work where the car looked amazing when done 6 months later where the repair was its very visible.
Looking forward to seeing the results my Tuscan is going for the full monty shortly

for sure when she comes back home i'll post photos and say how it was done. For the moment i know that any cracks were done as Miles Wilkins, that's to say Cracks ground out and ONLY resin and Fibreglass used as Filler. I have done that part myself. After 40 years of working with grp on my cars it's the only way. I have also learnt the hard way.
For sure others do repairs a different way but Resin and Fibre is the only way that works for me.

The paint is very metallic and it's a pity the photo doesn't show this very well.
I'm please it goes well with the Vinyl Roof just like it left the Blackpool Rockets Factory. The body has NO WAVES in the grp now and NOT any of those NASTY PIMPLES anywhere
