Hi there,

After spending a decade or so in boxes my 3000M is slowly coming together again. Since it's been such a long time I can't remember in what direction the ends of the anti-roll bar at the front are pointing. Is that to the front or the rear of the car ? Does it even matter ? I have seen pictures where the ends are pointing to the front and pictures where they are the other way around. When pointing backwards the transverse control arm comes pretty close to the wheel, though.

Thanks for any hints,
Hansgerd

Is that 3/4” or 1” ARB. Are the pick—ups the same ?

3/4” and it does pick up all the original places as the 1/2” one it replaced as I remember!
It must be thirty years ago I changed it, blimey.

Mine (original), has longer arms, and as a result, the drop link is behind the lower wishbone. The short ARB arms add to stiffness.

Is yours the one that has a small kink in the end aswell Bernard?

My original had just the one bend at each end.

John,

My ARB has only one bend, at each side. The arms (C, - attached image), are approximately 8-1/2” long.

On my 1978 3000S the anti-roll bar is pointing rear. Also on my 1976 3000M the anti-roll bar is pointing rear.
I hope that helps

There’s no movement at all, Andrew. It’s as though the car were sitting still.

Would you recommend a book you had never read
Would you recommend a film you had never watched
Would you recommend a holiday destination you had never been to.
Would you recommend a restaurant you had never eaten in.
Sorry i really dont get it maybe you just want everyone to try out your theory on there cars and then if it works you might finish your creation.
These may be more use than tissues

John maybe you happy to take advice from someone who has spent nearly 20 years building noting that has yet to move a wheel under its own power.
From someone who has no engineering background.
However new people coming into the marque could easily be directed in the wrong direction and do things that they would either regret or be unsafe.

Don’t presume you know who I would or would not seek council from, you don’t know.

I find the derision of fellow enthusiast efforts distasteful, unfortunately it’s is becoming more prevalent .

Sadly its been there for many years and i not only received it constantly from day one from certain directions but still do John what i am simply pointing out is if advice is given it should be backed up with experience.
Hence why the most common advice i give to people is to talk to the right people rather than giving them technical advice.
There are many experienced people out there who do not comment on these forums but are on the end of a phone if people need advice.
However what Bernard wishes to do with his car and how long he wishes to take is totally his business.
However i will not stand back and say nothing if the advice is give without those receiving it knowing that its totally un tested and nothing more than theory.
Its like the professor who comes up with a theory that the earth is flat?
