Any got experience of getting bumpers from anywhere?

Looking at DG web site they don’t seem to stock the rubber ones anymore.

I saw a company I think in the Netherlands called SC that we’re selling metal ones but at around £900 for a set, gulp!

Cheers

Hi Mark,

I believe Adrian Venn has a version. Someone out there sells a plastic version as opposed to the rubber ones.
I just can't remember where I saw them.

Now that you have asked the question I am going to hang out here and see who comes along.
I think I want a plastic set. I am under the impression I can tailor them to sit close to the body with minimal gaps.

Adrian Venn does good grp Bumpers.
I was lucky and was given 4 cut down corners from a Triumph 2000. A friend tig welded closing plates. Then i got them rechromed for 400 Euros.

I think I may have seen an old post that showed what you had, they did look good in metal!

Has anyone dealt with SC who supply metal ones I wonder?

Thanks Arthur, don’t blame you, taking this approach I think would look good.

I may give Adrian a bell, I’m sure he’d have some good advice regardless.....

Harrington are advertising stainless steel ones that look very smart in the pictures- currently reduced to £729 inclusive of postage.

I understand the stainless bumpers only fit the early M series or maybe the late series.
I think there is a difference in the Body shape next to the bumpers.
You need to check before ordering

They should fit the early cars with no modification required.

The don’t, but if you have a later car, they will fit with little or no mods.

papier-mâché moulds and made myself some fibreglass replacements.......

Thought they looked cumbersome so cut down to a slimmer profile.......

Thanks everyone, it’s an earlier car, 1976 with the TR6 rear lights.

I think the metal ones should fit, but I’ll check.....

Be careful, Alan’s (Plasticpig72) bumpers are old bumpers that were fabricated from the basic comments intended to fit the older cars. That’s not you will get if you buy new bumpers.

Graham m,
I also have a 3000S with rubber Bumpers. 2 of the rubber Bumpers are split.
I wonder what your asking price for the rubber Bumper is. I also live in Brittany France.
do you think you could send me an email <Plasticpig72@orange.fr>
