Sorry but i didn't say it was below the Ford 40 psi figure.
I said it is less than my 3000S which has an Oil Cooler and HP Pump.
My thoughts are that too high pressure can be bad also.
Oil needs to operate at their designed operating Temperature.
Same as Engines need to operate at their designed operating Temperature. Not too hot not too cold.
Maybe the best is to have an Oil Temperature Gauge to see whats happening.

Removing the oil cooler wont reduce the oil pressure. Changing the relief valve will but its a sump off job.

Have you thought of leaving it as it is ?
